Chapter 199: A Railgun That Can Turn
Juanqi was quite surprised that the clone could block her attack even with her eyes closed.
According to the intel, Misaka Mikoto, the Electromaster, supposedly didn't have any particularly strong close-combat abilities. So how could her clone have such strength to block her attack?
"Frenda!"
After retreating from George's high-voltage electric attack zone, Juanqi shouted loudly. Frenda immediately and cooperatively pressed the detonation button for the bombs.
"Boom!"
The bombs that had just been placed near George exploded with a roar.
Unfortunately, once the smoke cleared, George remained completely unharmed.
Because, at the moment of the explosion, George had already manipulated the iron sand to form a shield, firmly protecting himself.
"Alright, I'm done playing with you. Time to end this!"
George opened his eyes, and with a wave of both hands, the iron sand transformed into countless iron needles, shooting toward Juanqi and Frenda like a storm.
Seeing this, Juanqi immediately rushed in front of Frenda, wrapping both of them in armor formed from nitrogen gas.
The iron needles struck the armor but were all deflected, unable to break through it.
"Yes, it is time to end this!"
After all the iron needles had fallen to the ground, Juanqi once again gathered nitrogen into her hands, grabbed a nearby container, and threw it fiercely at George.
At the same time, Frenda also pulled out several homing bombs and threw them. The high-tech bombs curved in various arcs and flew toward George from all directions.
However, at that moment, George's lips curled slightly.
His abilities weren't exactly the same as Misaka's. Using methods that worked against Misaka on him would backfire severely.
The iron needles that had previously landed at Juanqi and Frenda's feet suddenly shot up under George's magnetic control, directly piercing the defenseless limbs of both women.
Meanwhile, the container and bombs were also frozen mid-air under his control, then reversed course and flew back toward Juanqi and Frenda.
Misaka controlled metal using electricity—once an object was launched, it couldn't be controlled further. But George was different. As long as the object remained within his magnetic control range, he could manipulate it however he wanted.
Unless one had an automatic defense like Accelerator's turtle-shell barrier, they would always be vulnerable to his 360-degree omnidirectional attacks.
"Seems you've got some skills. Then let me play with you a bit."
Seeing the injured Juanqi unable to form her nitrogen armor again, Level 5 Mugino Shizuri could no longer sit still. She waved her hand and fired a few green electric beams, instantly disintegrating the container, bombs, and iron needles into air.
"Then let's play."
George once again formed iron needles to float in front of him. Then he gathered electricity into his middle finger and flicked one of the needles with force.
He was Level 4 and couldn't fire a railgun at three times the speed of sound, but a supersonic one-fold version still packed quite the punch.
Backed by 200 million volts of electricity, the iron needle flew at supersonic speed straight toward Mugino Shizuri.
"A Railgun? Even the original wouldn't work on me, let alone this inferior version of yours."
Mugino Shizuri extended a hand, and green electricity formed a circular shield in front of her.
Any attack that struck this green electronic shield would be immediately absorbed and turned into air. Even a triple-speed Railgun theoretically couldn't break her defense.
"That's not necessarily true."
With a single thought from George, the originally straight-flying Railgun curved mid-air and bypassed the green shield, flying toward Mugino Shizuri.
Previously, he had already been able to make bullets turn mid-air. Now that his abilities had upgraded, it was only natural that he could make a Railgun curve as well.
Mugino Shizuri never expected George to pull off such a tricky maneuver and hurriedly formed a new shield of green lightning in front of herself, narrowly managing to block the Railgun.
But before she could breathe a sigh of relief, George's second Railgun was already curving toward her again.
And not only that—the iron sand had once again formed iron needles and began to attack her from all directions in coordination.
"This is infuriating!"
Mugino Shizuri never thought she would one day be suppressed by a Level 4 clone. It was a humiliating feeling.
Enraged, she shouted, unleashing her power to the fullest. One after another, green electric spheres formed and shot out beams of lightning, violently destroying all incoming attacks in an instant.
She then redirected her attacks toward George.
"Where is he?"
To her surprise, George, who had been standing there moments ago, had vanished.
She froze for less than a second before realizing George had gone invisible—this was a unique ability that the clone possessed, different from the original.
"Takitsubo!"
Level 4 tracker Takitsubo Rikou activated her ability and immediately pinpointed George's location.
Mugino Shizuri instantly fired a green beam at the spot.
"So it's a tracking ability."
George deactivated his invisibility and dodged the attack, now understanding the ability of the last girl standing.
"I wanted to keep things simple, but since that's how it is, I'll have to go with brute force."
After dodging the attack, George fired another curving Railgun and simultaneously controlled the iron sand to form more needles for a coordinated assault on Mugino Shizuri.
"This kind of attack is useless against me!"
Mugino Shizuri once again erupted with power, her green electricity sweeping away all attacks.
"Not necessarily!"
Just then, taking advantage of the brief window after her ability burst, George's body was suddenly wrapped in high-voltage electricity. His eyes sparked white light like a thunder god, and in the blink of an eye, he disappeared from his original position and reappeared behind Mugino Shizuri.
With a heavy hand chop, Mugino Shizuri was instantly knocked unconscious to the ground.
Dissipating the electric glow, George let out a small sigh of relief.
"Using electricity to boost speed really isn't easy. I need more practice."
Indeed, he had just attempted to stimulate his body using electricity, greatly enhancing his physical capabilities to significantly boost his speed and strength.
Using electricity to enhance the body wasn't uncommon. It was said that Laxus from Fairy Tail was so strong because he could massively boost his physical body with lightning.
Of course, not everyone could do this. At least the original Misaka Mikoto couldn't—or rather, not fully.
Misaka Mikoto's physical strength was only about that of an average girl. Her body could only handle a small degree of enhancement and couldn't withstand a large electric boost.
So the effect wasn't particularly noticeable.
But George's physical body, enhanced by the accumulation of multiple clones, and especially his durable wizard bloodline, allowed him to endure electrical amplification far beyond human limits.
In fact, if he weren't trying to avoid exposing his magic right now, he could have used his Giant Magic to massively increase his size and then stimulate it with electricity for even more astonishing enhancement.
"If this keeps up, I'm going to turn into Fairy Tail's melee wizard."
Giant magic plus electrical stimulation—rushing up to deliver a storm of punches—really didn't fit the image of an elegant mage.
Fortunately, he wasn't limited to just melee. He was a versatile mage who could both brawl up close and act as a long-range magic turret.
