Chapter 92 - Chapter 92: The Capital’s Guardians

The capital, MBI Tower.

The once bustling and lively capital was now eerily silent, as if death itself hung in the air. A gentle breeze blew, carrying with it a mournful wail.

A silver-haired man in a flamboyant cape struck a dramatic pose. Beside him stood a cute, ditzy girl in a mini shrine maiden outfit, a long strand of hair sticking up like a cowlick. Next to her was a stunningly beautiful girl with golden hair that nearly touched the ground, her pure golden eyes adorned with mysterious musical notes. Finally, there was a curvaceous, silver-haired woman exuding an alluring charm.

An eccentric group, an odd combination, standing atop the tower.

"It's begun! East, west, south, north—each direction has about two thousand troops. The air force will arrive in about five minutes!"

The silver-haired woman, No. 22, Kochou, adjusted her glasses as streams of data flashed in her silver eyes.

"Hahaha… It's finally started, these foolish fools! My lovely little birds, go and annihilate these invaders! Hahaha… Cough… Cough…"

The silver-haired man, MBI's president, Minaka Hiroto, laughed maniacally as he looked into the distance, hands on his hips. But he laughed too hard and ended up choking on his own saliva…

"Leave it to us, President! Musubi will never let the enemy harm anyone!"

The ditzy girl, No. 8, Musubi, clenched her tiny fists, her face brimming with confidence.

"Those who dare to invade, Kuno will never forgive them! Let my power aid everyone!"

The golden-haired Sekirei, No. 95, Kuno, stepped forward, spreading her arms. As her lips parted, beautiful, melodious notes flew from her mouth, solidifying into golden symbols that shot toward the four directions of the capital.

East Border of the Capital

Boom! Boom! Boom!!!

The ground shook as armored vehicles and tanks rumbled forward, their engines roaring like monstrous beasts. Buildings and skyscrapers were no match for them—they crushed everything in their path.

Surrounding the tanks were soldiers armed to the teeth, equipped with the most advanced weapons.

These soldiers, elite of the elite from various nations, moved with a deadly seriousness, their fingers on the triggers of their powerful assault rifles, ready to fight at a moment's notice.

The air was thick with a murderous aura.

"Private, why have we stopped?"

A middle-aged man in a general's uniform stood atop an armored vehicle, scanning the area with binoculars. Noticing the halt, he barked at the soldier below.

"Report, General! We've encountered a group of maid-like girls armed with weapons!"

A soldier ran up, saluting as he delivered the report.

"Maid-like girls?" The general frowned. For some reason, a sense of foreboding crept into his experienced heart.

He quickly raised his binoculars to look ahead.

Sure enough, a group of girls in maid outfits—more specifically, maid uniforms designed for ease of movement—came into view.

Even the battle-hardened general couldn't help but gasp. What a group of stunningly beautiful girls! The international celebrities, socialites, and even so-called beauty queens he'd seen or "sampled" paled in comparison to these girls—they were like ugly ducklings next to swans!

At the front of the group stood two particularly striking girls. One had short orange hair, a long blue ribbon tied around her forehead, and wore a simple white dress.

Yet, her beauty was undeniable. Even such a plain outfit couldn't hide her radiance. In her right hand, she held an oversized hammer, and a cold aura surrounded her, adding to her unique charm.

Beside her stood another girl with wheat-colored hair and eyes, a cute face, and a petite yet curvaceous figure. She wore a military uniform and carried a silver double-edged spear on her back.

What a group of beautiful and adorable girls!

No wonder the soldiers hesitated. The general realized that even he couldn't bring himself to harm these angelic beings…

But a general was still a general. Though momentarily entranced by the girls' beauty, he quickly snapped out of it.

Suddenly, he remembered something and broke out in a cold sweat!

"Damn it! They're the targets! Atta—"

The general shouted in alarm, but before he could finish, something unexpected happened!

Golden beams of light shot down from the sky. Upon closer inspection, they were musical notes!

Without pause, the golden notes descended and entered the bodies of the maid-like girls.

In the next moment, to the general and soldiers' horror, the girls began to glow with a dazzling golden light. An overwhelming aura erupted from them!

Even the general was stunned by the sudden turn of events. By the time he realized what was happening, the girls had already leaped into action, charging toward them.

"No. 84, Yashima, under my master's orders, will eliminate all enemies!"

"No. 78, Nanami, from here on out, you won't take another step forward!"

The orange-haired girl swung her massive hammer, smashing it into a tank. With a deafening explosion, the tank was obliterated! The wheat-haired girl thrust her silver spear into the air, and a shockwave erupted, obliterating everything in its path—whether it was a person or an armored vehicle!

Moreover, the maidens wielding various weapons sprang into action. Their bodies were more agile than leopards, transforming into streaks of light as they relentlessly harvested the lives of the soldiers.

Screams and explosions erupted, blending into a cacophony of chaos…

"Attack! Attack!! Attack!!!"

Snapping back to reality at the terrifying sight of these devilish maidens, the general roared like a madman. Instantly, the roar of machine guns and cannons filled the air.

Watching the figures darting through the hail of bullets, the general realized for the first time that his body was trembling in the face of the enemy…

West District of the Capital, Ordinary Streets

A group of black-armored figures, their faces obscured, wielding long swords, darted swiftly across rooftops. They were the most elite assassins trained by various nations, each possessing formidable assassination and combat skills.

They didn't use guns or bombs—their swords and the daggers at their waists were their deadliest weapons.

They were the ghosts of the night, the messengers of hell, countless lives had been extinguished by their hands.

However, today their target was not high-ranking officials, wealthy tycoons, or even hardened criminals. Today, their target was a group of girls known as Sekirei.

Thud!

"Ah!"

A muffled sound, a scream, and one of the leaping shadows was sent flying backward like a cannonball, embedding itself into a thick wall, lifeless.

"Halt!"

A figure who seemed to be the leader gave the order, and all the shadows froze in place. Even after losing a comrade, they made no sound.

All the shadows gripped their swords tightly, staring at the figure ahead. The killing intent in the air was so thick it turned the once-warm atmosphere icy.

It was a cute girl with short brown hair, her petite frame wrapped in a tight black leather outfit that made one want to reach out and touch her.

The girl seemed delicate and shy, her head lowered, but it wasn't out of fear—it was more like she was embarrassed by the intense stares of so many people.

"No. 86, Katsuragi, pleased to meet you!"

Nervously, the girl greeted the shadows.

In normal circumstances, a girl who appeared so fragile and timid would be nothing more than an ant to these shadows. But now, they were tense, their hands trembling slightly as they gripped their swords.

Because, just moments ago, this seemingly delicate girl had kicked one of their comrades to death with a single, effortless motion!

"Katsuragi, you don't need to introduce yourself to these guys!"

"Well, whatever, it doesn't matter anyway. Hello, invaders, I'm No. 101, Oriha, and by my master's command, I'm here to end your lives. Hehe…"

Another girl stepped forward, a cute little bow tied at her forehead, dressed in a beautiful black-and-white maid outfit.

She had the face of a porcelain doll, so adorable that anyone who saw her would want to pinch her cheeks.

However, anyone with even a shred of common sense would think twice upon seeing the razor-sharp, spinning saw blades hovering around her.

"Attack!"

Taking a deep breath, the shadow leader seemed to make a monumental decision, pointing his finger toward the two girls.

Meanwhile, a similar scene was unfolding in the southern part of the capital.

A girl wielding throwing knives faced off against a group of snipers. Her knives pierced through walls and armor with ease, claiming life after life.

On the northern bridge of the capital, a silver-haired beauty manipulated a sea of fog, causing the advancing army to spin in circles, thrown into chaos.

A blue-haired woman with a short spear darted through the fog, her figure a blur.

Screams and explosions filled the air, and before long, the once-white fog turned a deep crimson…

"All four directions—east, west, south, and north—have been suppressed. The Sekirei are now mopping up."

"However, the air force is approaching!"

Opening her eyes, Kochou reported the situation in a calm tone.

"Hahaha… As expected of the mighty Sekirei, they've suppressed the world's top forces so quickly, hahaha…" Hearing Kochou's report, President Minaka laughed triumphantly, as if he had done it all himself.

"Huh? What's that…" Looking up, Minaka noticed something in the sky—a cluster of black dots approaching like a meteor shower.

"Well, Musubi, I have some urgent matters to attend to. I'll leave this to you!"

"Hey, kid, do a good job. When Sora gets back, I'll make sure he rewards you properly!"

With his super-genius brain, Minaka immediately understood what was coming. He turned to Musubi with a calm expression.

Then, without waiting for Musubi's response, he bolted back to his office at 120 kilometers per hour.

"What's wrong with the president?" Musubi tilted her head, a finger on her cheek, looking puzzled.

"Ahem, Musubi, don't worry about him. If you don't act soon, those things up there will bury us all."

Embarrassed, Kochou reminded Musubi.

"Huh? Oh! Oh!"

Musubi, as clueless as ever, quickly nodded. She had already noticed the incoming artillery shells in the sky. While she wasn't too concerned, Kochou and Kuno, who weren't combat types, might not survive such an attack.

Without hesitation, Musubi gathered her Sekirei power and punched the air in front of her.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!!!

An invisible shockwave spread out, and the shells in the air exploded like fireworks, illuminating the entire capital…
