Luke awoke with a jump. He hurriedly turned off his alarm and rushed to the bathroom. Making himself presentable, he got ready to…eat? Where was his food?
"Battalion, take me to the cafeteria."
[Teleporting…]
Luke ate his cafeteria food in a brazen manner. He was waiting for his food from home to arrive. The moment Brandon's Bagels made it onto the Legacy…
He finished his food in near-record time. Looking at his holo, he still had thirty minutes before he needed to meet the rest of his division in their Community Hall.
Teleporting back to his cabin, he immediately accessed his sister's military files. Everything looked good. Luke was impressed.
"Battalion, access my sister's school files."
[Pulling up files now.]
As he looked through the files, he smiled. His sister did somewhat poorly during her first two years of school. After that point she rose like a rocket.
Snickering to himself, Luke changed the necessary files. His sister was now a Grade S Student in not only most but all of her years.
After surfing the net for a short while, his time was up.
"Battalion, take me to the entrance of the Community Hall."
[Teleporting…]
After spending ten minutes in his room, Luke finally settled on a greeting. "Hello there!"
"Lieutenant Commander Jaywalker… You are a bold one. Kill him."
The 27 members of the Galactic Federation Military EX Class Mech Pilot Division pounced.
A flurry of fists and feet ensued as they tried to take him out. Luckily, Luke was on his feet. He teleported to the other side of the room just as they reached him. With the ones in the back overreaching, it devolved into a fierce melee.
Luke teleported back to the cafeteria and came back with a boba milk tea. Slurping noisily, he watched the chaos enfold.
Someone snuck up next to him. He reached his hand out. "Lieutenant Commander Luke Jaywalker."
"Grand Admiral Aurelius Collins." He replied, shaking the hand.
'That's the ship's captain and Leiva's future mentor.'
Luke stopped slurping as the two continued silently watching the melee. After a while, it slowed down. It was a good thing they weren't using weapons, or it would have gotten waaaaay out of hand.
The grand admiral coughed abruptly. Everyone stopped. That is, except for a skinny boy with black hair. He was holding Turik's tie and slapping him in the face like a baby's bottom.
"KAWAAAAIIII!" He screamed as he mercilessly beat the tar out of the senseless pilot.
"Bruno, help me stop Tad!" One of the women shouted. The two began to pull him off the unconscious Turik.
The Grand Admiral waited patiently for them to finish. When silence ensued, he spoke.
"Ahem! This is the new recruit, Luke Jaywalker. He has officially joined the EX-class Mech Division of our military as the 39th member."
"As I'm sure you're all eager to find out, Luke has used all of his Federation Favors. Congratulations. A new series of subdivisions under the EX Mech division have been created."
'What?'
"You are now all eligible to create and run a new research division of your own making."
Tad started cackling. Several people patted him on the shoulder before shaking hands with Luke.
Once they settled down, the Grand Admiral continued his speech. "Today he will go through debrief and planning. Tomorrow, he will begin his training. Lawrence, I'm putting you in charge of procedures for today alongside the supplemental crew."
The older man nodded. The grey in his grizzled beard put him in his mid forties- that is, if he wasn't a cultivator.
'He must be old.' Luke decided.
"That is all. You are dismissed."
The grand admiral teleported out. The man named Lawrence grunted. "Come with me."
Grabbing Luke's shoulder, he teleported them to an empty hall.
"Why did you all try to attack me?" Luke asked, the question still fresh on his mind.
"Ritual hazing, why else?" Shrugging his shoulders and grinning, Lieutenant Commander Lawrence opened a side door hidden amongst the massive hallway.
"Gretchen, long time no see."
"Likewise, Lawrence. It's been a while. I take it this is the new recruit?"
"Indeed it is."
"Take him to the empty holochamber. I'll start the video in a moment."
Luke smiled. Without a word, he entered the holochamber and sat down. He heard a door close behind him, and then… all was still.
