Ryusuke turned to the butler, his expression unreadable. "Question everyone. Where they were. What they saw. Someone here knows something."
The butler gave a sharp nod and ordered the guards to begin rounding up the servants.
The investigation began. Servants were lined up in the courtyard under the cold moonlight, their faces pale from exhaustion and fear. Ryusuke stood before them, arms crossed, his gaze sweeping over them like a predator studying its prey.
"The fire was no accident," he said, his voice calm yet carrying the weight of authority. "Someone tried to kill that child."
A ripple of unease passed through the group. No one spoke.
Ryusuke's sharp eyes landed on the twitchy new servant standing near the back. He was thin, bony, his hands clenched tightly at his sides. He barely looked up. Suspicious. But not enough to act on. Yet.
