Chapter 40 - Chapter 29 Why Do You Need to Be Like This?

The saying "when a tree stands out in the forest, the wind will surely destroy it," Ren Zhong had learned from the wisdom of the ancestors many years ago.

He also realized that in the 21st century, one could flaunt their talents, but in this world, one must act with discretion.

He has never given up on self-protection.

Wen Lei: "Why? Isn't testing a good thing? It's a symbol of status and position!"

Ren Zhong: "Things like talent are really just self-deceptive. Before it materializes, talent is always just an elusive number. No matter how high the talent, if you can't beat others, you'll still die. The important thing is how strong you actually are."

"Hmm, Brother Ren, you're really smart."

Wen Lei exclaimed.

The subsequent training didn't surprise Ren Zhong.

In fact, upon entering the intermediate training field and seeing the facilities, he already had an idea in his mind.

With Wen Lei's help, Ren Zhong took off the ordinary Training Armor and put on the specialized Enhanced Training Armor.

The fully alloy-structured Enhanced Training Armor gave him a semblance of the Chief Officer from that familiar halo.

Ren Zhong tried to lift his hand but couldn't move, feeling as if trapped in a mummy's coffin.

If it weren't for being able to see outside through the transparent helmet visor, claustrophobia would have overwhelmed him.

Wen Lei explained: "The Enhanced Training Armor is roughly similar to First-Level Armor in basic configuration, with an output power limit of 50 kW. However, the whole machine is lightweight, and an expensive signal amplifier has been added. The user only experiences a Biological Electric Power Value just one-tenth of ordinary armor, which is 5 kW. Brother Ren, you can currently use the Enhanced Training Armor to mobilize about 20 kW of total power. This is to let you feel the intensity of formal equipment in advance."

Upon hearing this, Ren Zhong asked puzzledly: "Since this technology is so good, why not mass-produce it? Wouldn't that lower the threshold for Professional Soldiers and create more warriors?"

Wen Lei was stunned, "The cost of signal amplifiers is very high. The price of this Enhanced Training Armor is at least twice that of ordinary First-Level Armor, and its latency is more than three times that of regular equipment. This delay can be fatal in actual combat."

"I see."

"Okay, I'm powering it on now. Brother Ren, pay close attention to the difference between moving in the Training Armor and usual movement. The purpose of training is to constantly adapt to this process."

Ren Zhong nodded.

A moment later, a tiny buzzing sound echoed in his ears, signaling the system's rapid startup.

He felt a familiar electric tingle all over his body, much lower than when testing the Carrying Power before.

Upon a closer look, he could detect numerous streams of electrical currents flowing towards his brain through his limbs and torso, some linking to his spine, while others directly connected to his brain.

This sensation was somewhat similar to the first time he wore the Wrist watch, but the electrical flow process was much more detailed.

After a long pause, Ren Zhong experienced a slight tremor throughout his body, suddenly feeling stronger, as if his bones had thickened and his muscles had expanded.

He knew this was a "delusion" induced by the Biological Electric deception.

The extra physiological structures were the armor.

"Brother Ren, try lifting your leg, slowly. I've now set you up with micro-force feedback. The armor's power output is only 2 kW, without significant delay. This is another function of the Enhanced Training Armor, providing subtle assistance with a power lower than the basic value of 10 kW. It allows you to quickly adapt to Mecha control from scratch."

"Hmm, that's pretty good."

Ren Zhong marveled.

Compared to the downright dim-witted cramming materials in the Wrist watch, this world handles introductory training in the Combat profession much more meticulously and humanely. Calling it fool-proof wouldn't be an exaggeration.

He attempted to lift his leg and took a step forward.

About 0.1 seconds after his brain issued the lift-leg command to his lower half, the armor covering his body surface coordinated the movement.

Click, Ren Zhong completed the step steadily.

Wen Lei's mouth twitched slightly, his pupils narrowing sharply.

Darned talent! Brother Ren's adaptability is incredible!

Back then, Wen Lei hadn't worn the Enhanced Training Armor. He first maxed out his Biological Electric Power to 10 kW and then directly equipped the First-Level Armor, setting a power cap of 10 kW to get started progressively.

Even for taking the first step, the challenge Wen Lei faced back then was the same as Ren Zhong's. The difference was that when he took that step, he instantly lost his balance and fell flat on his face.
