Chapter 11 - Chapter 9

(Third Person POV)

[Some Days Later....]

It was a rainy night in the island where the Velaryon forces were stationed. As Aerion had predicted, to Lord Corlys's surprise, Triarchy scouts were seen casing the exact passage the young lord had pointed out. Without much hesitation, Triarchy forces began to march through the passage in an attempt to hit the Velaryon forces from behind as Daemon attacked their main force in the South-Eastern coast of the island.

After quickly dispatching around fifty men to meet the Triarchy men, Lord Corlys found himself in the middle of a pincer attack. While the frontlines were being held by Daemon and Caraxes, pushing the full-brunt of several hundred men back, Corlys was skeptical about releasing Aerion and Vermithor into the battlefield.

Aerion, being a dragonrider, was still young and Corlys did not wish to place him in any danger. This was a foolish mentality; Aerion had already been experienced in battle. Something that Ser Gerold had already pointed out, much to his dismay.

After nearly an hour of the backline forces clashing with the rear Triarchy forces, Corlys received word that the infamous Black Crab was among them. Aerion was right; he was dispatched by the Triarchy to attempt to create a huge blow. For some reason, The Triarchy knew that the Velaryon forces still required their main reinforcements to arrive. This prompted them to send a serious bruiser like the Black Crab to create as much damage as possible.

And it was a good idea. This warrior was fierce as he was imposing; wielding a large battle axe that he swung around, cleaving soldiers like nothing. The ground beneath them turned into a grotesque sludge of mud, rain, and blood. The more the Triarchy advanced, the more bodies fell due to this massive man's prowess.

Lord Corlys believed that he would be required to meet him in battle in order to take him down. While Aerion was not someone he wanted to use in battle, Corlys recognized his intelligence. Defeating The Black Crab would lower the morale of the Triarchy forces and would make them rethink their approach.

Something had to be done before their encampments was fully compromised.

Corlys walked out of his tent, "What is the situation on our backline?" He asked a soldier

"My Lord!" He exclaimed, "We just received word that our men are managing to hold our own in the end of the passage. We need to send more reinforcements to hold it down long enough to dispatch Vermithor!"

"Vermithor cannot be used, not now." Corlys said, "The moment they see him, they will retreat. We will not get another opportunity like this! We need to kill the Black Crab! By doing this, we can cripple their command and major power!"

"Are you certain, My Lord?" the soldier asked, "A dragon can finish this battle with ease!"

"I know but if we can lower their morale, The Crabfeeder will rethink his approach." Corlys said, "Grab my weapon, we go and fight!"

As he placed his helm on, he saw that Ser Gerold Royce was running across the camp, puddles splashing with every step he took.

"Lord Corlys!" He exclaimed, "I just checked on Vermithor's cave! Aerion is gone!"

"What?!" Corlys exclaimed, "Where did he go?!"

Gerold panted, "It is obvious!" He said, "The boy had gone to meet the enemy in our backline!"

"That stupid boy!" Corlys exclaimed, "We may have needed him in the frontline with Daemon! He is to be on dragonback, not on foot! Control your nephew, Ser Gerold!"

"Forgive me, My Lord, but that is near impossible." Gerold said, "All I could do is go and help him. Are you going to the battle, My Lord?"

"Yes, let us rush over before he gets harmed or worse!" Corlys said,

"Now!"

**********

The Black Crab planted his foot on the wet ground, holding his massive battle axe as he looked at the dead men in front of him.

He was massive, standing a bit over seven feet tall, having nothing but pure muscle and some fat. His skin was brown and his hair was long and black. His face was covered by a makeshift mask, which was made from the skull of a fallen foe. He wore casual clothes with several crab parts hanging down from his belt. The parts were colored black, presumably burnt by flames to give them that color.

He spat on the ground, "Is that all they have to offer?" He said, "We fucking kill everyone then..."

The goliath of a man was powerful enough to kill a man with a single swing of his axe, something that the surviving Velaryon soldiers were wary of. As they backed up, they were attacked by other Triarchy soldiers, picking them off one by one.

The Black Crab slowly walked forwards, carefully scanning the area in front of him to seek out his next victim. He had tasted blood and wanted to kill as many men as possible before he was satisfied.

There was nothing but clashing steel and shouts of men that were cut down, both Velaryon and Triarchy alike. This was nothing to the Black Crab, he simply looked around, trying to find someone he would easily dismember with his axe.

He then spotted some movement in the middle of the battle, some of his men were cut down by a strange shadowy figure. Shadowy to the Black Crab due to the rain, the light of a distant fire was seen illuminating the area.

"Hmmm...." He said as he narrowed his eyes

He then saw as one of his men had a blade plunged through him, his back turned to the Black Crab, only around thirty feet from him.

He stopped, seeing that the blade was removed and his comrade collapsing to the ground, seeing the figure of Aerion standing in the rain, his clothes and hair drenched completely as he held his sword. There was another sword, planted on the ground right next to him, presumably from a fallen comrade of Aerion's.

The Black Crab raised his eyebrow, wondering if his eyes deceived him. While Aerion was tall, his face clearly told the behemoth of a man that he was but a young boy, barely reaching his adolescence.

"Tch....is this what the Velaryons do?" The Black Crab said, "They send children to fight their battles? How pathetic...."

Aerion looked at him, "Hm...."

The Black Crab then took a step forward, "No matter!" he exclaimed, "You die tonight, boy!!"

He lunged at Aerion with terrifying speed for a man his size, swinging his axe down viciously at Aerion.

To his shock, Aerion had dodged out of the way, grabbing the second sword with his left hand. In a swift motion, Aerion quickly spun around and slashed both of his swords at The Black Crab's midsection and thigh, cutting him.

"W-What?" The Black Crab grimaced in pain as he stumbled slightly, "What in the hells?"

He looked behind him, seeing that Aerion was holding the two swords with his hands.

"As it turns out, I can wield two swords quite effectively." Aerion said simply

The Black Crab then squinted, barely noticing his white hair, "T-Targaryen.....?" He said, "A Targaryen boy...? W-Wait, you are the runt? Red-Hair Aerion?"

Aerion assumed a stance, "I have white hair."

The Black Crab swung his axe at him with such speed that Aerion tried to parry it with his sword. The blow of the strike was so strong that it nearly toppled the young lord over, cracking Aerion's second sword, the one he picked up from the ground.

"Ha!" The Black Crab said, "Nice reflexes! They call you Red-Hair because of all the blood you get on yourself, staining your hair red! You are the rider of the bronze dragon, are you not, Little Lord?"

"This sword was poorly made...." Aerion muttered to himself

Aerion swung his left sword, the cracked one at the Black Crab, who clashed it with his axe with surprising reflexes. The sword then completely shattered due to the impact of the clash.

"What now?!" The Black Crab exclaimed with a vicious smirk

"I stab you." Aerion said

He thrust his right sword at his thigh, piercing right through.

"Hnngh!" the Black Crab exclaimed in pain as he buckled down

Aerion then pulled the sword out and in a swift motion, he swung it fiercely at his neck, cleaving halfway through.

Blood began to spray out as the Black Crab widened his eyes in shock, the light immediately leaving them as his body slowly tumbled to the ground.

"My sword....." Aerion said as he stood in the rain, blood sprayed on his cheek,

"Was of better quality..."
