Chapter 58: Dark Demon Eats Melon Up Close
"Virt Gold, 50 points deducted. Come to my office after class."
Professor Cazel's voice was calm but laced with anger.
Everyone in the classroom instinctively stopped writing.
The sound of pens scratching against paper vanished in an instant, and the room fell silent.
In such an atmosphere.
Virt raised his head under countless gazes, his face pale and his lips twitching.
"Hmph."
Professor Cazel took one last look at the now-calm [Forbidden Love] and turned to continue walking.
"Continue copying the notes!"
This was probably the first time he had gotten angry since the start of the semester.
As the most popular professor among the first-year students, Professor Cazel always presented himself as kind and approachable, and his teaching methods were engaging and far from boring.
This made the students immediately assume that the son of the hero must have committed an unforgivable mistake!
The students from the Knight Academy looked at him with a hint of pity.
The students from the Noble Academy, however, mostly sneered and reveled in his misfortune.
Even Dark was half-open-mouthed, unsure whether to sympathize or laugh.
[Wrath -1]
At least his anger had subsided somewhat.
Dark redirected his attention to his notebook.
As for the matter, he could easily guess with his toes that Virt must have used [Forbidden Love] to peek at the back of Professor Cazel's head.
Was the professor's head something to be trifled with?
Professor Cazel was a legendary alchemy master who had existed since the time of Merlin, one of the few remaining from that era!
Even though he had now transitioned into a magister, that only broadened his expertise and made him even more formidable.
For Virt to use a flower card to peek into the thoughts of a magister of that caliber wasn't that just asking for trouble?
Luckily, Professor Cazel had a good temper.
If it had been Professor Jones, with her giant bloodline, she would have slapped him without a second thought!
Tsk.
What a fool!
...
After finishing copying the notes, Dark glanced over intentionally or unintentionally.
Virt looked nervous but finally started copying the notes seriously alongside Robert.
Time passed bit by bit.
Finally, class ended.
Professor Cazel glanced at Virt, gathered his teaching materials, and left the classroom.
Virt, on the other hand, lowered his head and slowly packed his books.
Robert couldn't help but ask, "What are you going to do?"
Virt lamented, "What else can I do? Go to the office."
Robert racked his brains and finally came up with a comforting phrase: "Relax, Virt. The professor already deducted 50 points from you. There probably won't be any other punishments."
"Other punishments?"
Virt's head shot up at the reminder: "He won't expel me, will he?"
At the thought, Virt became extremely anxious.
As for his credits being reduced to negative, that was nothing!
He had received his admission letter to St. Marian Academy while in the orphanage, and it was the headmaster himself who brought him to the academy.
If he were expelled, he would have nowhere to go!
St. Marian Academy was his only home.
...
No matter how much Robert tried to comfort him, Virt couldn't listen anymore.
He walked dejectedly to Professor Cazel's office and knocked on the door.
"Come in."
Virt turned the doorknob, pushed the door open a crack, and cautiously peeked inside.
But the first person he saw wasn't an angry Professor Cazel.
It was Dark Demon, leaning on the sofa sipping red tea.
...
Dark saw Virt peeking in and gave him a friendly smile, then pointed at the door with his teacup.
Realizing this, Virt quickly entered the office and closed the door behind him.
Then he finally saw Professor Cazel sitting behind his desk.
Professor Cazel's expression was calm, not as angry as he had imagined.
Plus, with Dark, a fellow first-year student, present, Virt felt slightly less nervous.
He lowered his head, took a few steps forward, and stood in front of the desk, forcing out a word: "Professor."
"Clink."
Virt shuddered.
It was Dark placing his teacup back on the coffee table.
...
Of course, Dark didn't teleport. It was just that Virt had dragged his feet so much that Dark had arrived at the office earlier.
Since the issue was caused by a flower card, Dark easily inserted himself into the situation.
But he and Professor Cazel had only exchanged a few words before Virt arrived, so he simply sat down to eat melon no, to drink tea!
After all, he was familiar with this office!
...
Professor Cazel looked up and tapped the desk with his fingertip: "Hand over that magic card."
Though reluctant, under Professor Cazel's intimidating gaze, Virt handed over [Forbidden Love].
Professor Cazel took the card and frowned: "A flower card? You turned this flower card into a magic card?"
Virt braced himself and replied, "Yes, Professor."
Professor Cazel took out a magic card from his drawer, swiped it across the desk, and instantly a cubic barrier surrounded [Forbidden Love].
Then he raised his magic pen and pointed it at [Forbidden Love].
The magic gathered into a beam, pierced through the barrier, and infused into [Forbidden Love].
Virt watched nervously.
Dark also widened his eyes, full of curiosity.
But after coming into contact with Professor Cazel's magic, [Forbidden Love] merely trembled and released a thin mist.
Professor Cazel frowned: "It's already deeply bound."
Then he looked up at Virt: "Do you have anything to say?"
Virt gritted his teeth and remained silent.
Professor Cazel continued: "According to the academy's rules, even we professors don't have the right to excessively probe into a student's secrets, especially regarding magic card creation. But if you're willing... Hmm, it seems you're not."
Professor Cazel waved his hand, dispelling the barrier.
Then he pushed [Forbidden Love] back to Virt and said sternly: "Remember what I said at the start of the semester. Magic cards themselves are neither good nor evil, but their users can be. Peeking into someone's thoughts without their consent is a grave offense. I only deducted 50 points because it's your first offense. I hope you'll learn from this."
Virt took back [Forbidden Love], his back drenched in sweat.
Under Professor Cazel's gaze, he mustered the courage to say, "Professor, I will remember your teachings."
...
When Virt walked out of the office, Robert immediately approached him.
Virt closed the door, his steps unsteady, and leaned on Robert.
Speaking with Professor Cazel felt like bearing an invisible pressure that repeatedly crushed his spirit.
Now, he had only one thought in his mind: never do it again!
