MAXUS'S POV
That afternoon Cairn returned to the village empty handed after his hunt with some other male wolves. This was the fifth day in a row our hunting missions returned nothing. Not to mention we already had a disappointing harvest of grain.
If we don't I let out a sigh. Every year we had to deal with the same issue again and again. Honestly, I was tired.
"I'm not sure what we're going to do," Cairn told me.
"We need to expand our hunting grounds," I told him.
"But how? You know how risky it is to go beyond our territory.
The territories we were in were heavily hostile. If we left our designated hunting grounds we would have more room to find prey but we would also risk bumping into other wolf packs. Unfortunately, our relationship with other wolf packs was quite awful. The motto for all the raided wolf packs was basically every wolf pack for himself.
