Haruto raised a brow in amusement.
"Really? And how's that?"
"I finally got a C-rank mission!" Naruto declared proudly.
He quickly explained the details of the mission, then leaned closer to Haruto and whispered, "This old man is a famous bridge-builder!"
"Even though he doesn't look reliable at all," Naruto added, eyeing Tazuna's drunken state.
"But the old man and Kakashi-sensei both said he's a big deal!"
Naruto clenched his fists in excitement.
"As long as I complete this mission, I'll be a real ninja!"
Haruto smirked, listening to Naruto ramble on.
"So, I need to take this seriously!" Naruto said. "If I smash an egg and get something useful, I can power up before we go!"
Haruto snapped his fingers, making a golden egg appear before Naruto.
Behind him, Sakura sighed for the hundredth time.
"I told you already, we're not going to fight any ninjas!" she huffed.
"Yeah, yeah~" Naruto dismissed her with a wave of his hand.
"Bang!"
With a heavy swing of the hammer, the golden egg shattered, revealing three glowing golden balls.
"Whoa!"
Even Tazuna, who had been half-drunk, sobered up a little at the sight.
He had never seen anything like this before.
Still, seeing how calm the others were, he quickly coughed and pretended he wasn't impressed.
"Boss! What did I get?" Naruto asked eagerly.
Haruto examined the glowing orbs, his expression unreadable.
"Oh?"
His eyes flickered with amusement.
"Looks like your rewards are perfectly suited for your mission."
