The entire cave rumbled at the might of the creatures there, it was not usual for the Kamuri Cobras to cause such chaos but it was not something that anyone would anticipate to meet the two breeds in one place.
Many warriors would have been able to handle the Blue S-ranked Kamuri Cobra, but the Red S-ranked was also present, and it was not something that any warrior would want to encounter.
"Damn it! Damn it!" Theo managed to gather enough strength, the cobras had spotted him but he was not sure if they would attacunsureately. He wanted to make sure that he would be able to protect Darius and also make sure that he was not going to die there.
"Of all the times for something like this to happen, it had to be now?!" Theo was looking at the cobras for some reason they were not reacting, they seemed docile watching waiting for him to make the first move.
The red cobra let out a roar shaking the cave walls, stalactites fell from the top of the caves.
"Wind Barrier!" Using his spear Theo cast a protective spell, covering both he and Darius. "Damn it, they noticed me."
Theo watched the cobras trying to anticipate their movement, he knew that his chances of survival were zero but he still clung to hope.
The blue cobra made its move, crawling towards Theo and Darius while letting out a roar that shook the cave once more, the 15ft serpent towered over them. It wrapped itself around the barrier Theo made and began trying to crush it.
"Reinforce!" Theo yelled, he was trying to make sure that the barrier would be able to hold for long, and he used his mana to reinforce it keeping the serpent out. "Oh heavens please, I need a way out of this!"
Theo looked up to see that the blue cobra had stopped trying to squeeze the barrier. It coiled up, preparing for another attack, and he knew it was not going to be as easy as the last one. "What in the world is it planning to do this time?!"
The cobra struck the barrier with its fangs, and its bite was strong enough to push Theo down a bit. There was a crack in the barrier, and Theo's strength was failing him. The Cobra struck the barrier repeatedly, trying to break through.
'I guess this is it,' Theo was holding up the barrier knowing that he was not going to be able to keep it up for long. All the things he had done in his life began to flash before his eyes. 'All my life I kept running from my family's name and title. Only for me to die in a cave where no one would find my body.'
The cobra's attacks were getting fiercer and the barrier seemed to be getting weaker.
"I can't believe this is it for me." Theo's hands couldn't hold the barrier anymore, he then slowly let go of the barrier exposing themselves to the cobra. Theo braced himself for the last hit, knowing that it would take his life.
Suddenly out of nowhere a huge gush of energy pushed the cobra back before it could land the blow.
"What in the world was that?!"
Theo stood there in shock, he then looked to his side only to notice that Darius was no longer on the floor there. He turned to see that the once unconscious warrior was now awake, but there was something different...
'He's awake! Wait was he the one who pushed the cobra back? It's impossible! He's an F...." Theo froze when he noticed something odd about Darius, something that wasn't there before.
"Ahh, what a drag." Darius stretched. He had hit his head on a stone inside the cave when the fireball sent him flying, knocking him out for a moment. "What in the world happened?"
"You were asleep for about twenty minutes, and from the looks of it you are inside the boss dungeon." Azree was quick with the answer, Darius looked up to see the cobras there and knew they were the bosses he had gotten an alert to kill.
"Azree, help me with this!" Darius took his stance knowing that he was going to be facing these creatures and he would be risking everything to stay alive.
{Notice: The Creatures in front of you are the Blue and Red Kamuri Cobras.
The Blue one is a weaker breed of the Kamuri Cobras known to be a creature that spends its time in solitude.
The Red Kamuri Cobra is the biggest breed of the Kamuri Cobras. A creature known for its aggressive behavior and destructive abilities is feared by smaller ones.
Both have a range of deadly abilities!}
"What are the chances I have of defeating them?" Darius wanted to know if he was going to be able to do anything to them knowing that they might be stronger than him alone.
"Alone you can take down the Blue Cobra, but if the red cobra should interfere there is no possible chance of you winning in the fight."
Darius sighed when he heard what Azree told him, he was not sure how he was going to take down the creatures in front of him, the cobras were not moving they were at a place observing both warriors.
The red cobra let out another roar, sending the blue Cobra into a frenzy. It rushed for Darius who pulled out his swords, he was not going to get hit down again.
'Here it comes!' Darius was ready for the fight...
The cobra flung its tail at Darius in a flash, Darius managed to block it using one of the blades to slice off the tip of the tail.
The cobra let out a roar, then tried to attack Darius again this time with its fangs trying to bite him down. But Darius was faster than the snake, he jumped to the side of the cave using a stone as a balance he launched himself towards the serpent trying to see if he would be able to deliver a blow to the head.
The Red Cobra then let shaking the cave once more, making Darius dodge the falling rocks rather than push on with the attack. Darius landed to the side, trying to catch his breath before he would be able to head back in.
"This is going to be harder than I imagine, I have to..."
Darius paused, he noticed something he had ignored for some time. He turned to see Theo looking at him, he knew that it was a shock for Theo to see him, 'An F-rank' spring up and push back beasts that were supposedly S-ranked monsters.
'His speed and precise movements, that is not something an F rank can do! Who is this man?!' Theo had been watching Darius battle the blue cobra and he was not sure if he was going to be able to do half of what he did.
"Theo," he called out, he was not sure how he was going to explain what he did when he woke up but then it was going to be either one of many things. Theo would either see him as a freak and try to do something to him, Darius had heard what they did to warriors who they spotted as hidden rankers it was not a fate he would want to face.
"How in the world were you able to do that?" Theo asked, he was looking at Darius trying to see if he would tell him how he was able to push the cobra back. "You were clearly out cold, I was doing my best to make sure that nothing would happen to you but.... You sprung up at the dying minute and you were able to face that beast for some time."
Theo's voice was laced with both surprise and shock, he was not sure if he was going to be able to understand whatever Darius was going to tell him.
".."
Darius hesitated to speak, he was not sure what to say but he knew the moment he was going to say something it would be something that would change the way Theo looked at him.
{Notice: Do you want to trust the human?}
A notification popped up in front of Darius, he knew that it was due to his hesitation and fear, he didn't know if Theo was going to rat him out to the Association, if he did then he was at risk of losing Lena. But then he was looking at the warrior in front of him, something was pushing him to tell him but they needed to avert the danger in front of them.
"Theo, I will tell you everything you want to know if you will be able to help me take these things down. I will not hide anything from you and I will let you in on what I am and the things I can do."
Darius was not sure if he was going to be able to get through with Theo knowing that he was not going to be able to trust him not even for a minute.
Theo stared at Darius, his hand on the spear. He had been doublecrossed once that night and he was not going to take the chance. But then he was looking at Darius and he couldn't shake the feeling that he was looking at a good man most importantly he was the only shot he had to leave that cave alive.
Theo mustered up the last strength he had picked up his spear and walked close to Darius. "I will lend you my spear, but if you try to betray me." He was not going to let his guard down again.
Darius smiled, he was happy that he had gotten through to him.
{Do you trust the human?}
The notification came up again, Darius with a smile on his turned to face the cobras.
'I trust him.'
