Next day, there was a knock on the door of room that Evelyn is currently staying.
Evelyn woke up because of the sound, when she groggily opened the door, Lu yichen was standing in front of her in his shirt and pants only which looked quite casual.
"Umm, do you need anything?" She asked as she is not aware what had she done wrong.
"We need to talk." Then he entered her room and sat on the sofa. "Go, freshen up. I will be waiting."
After fifteen minutes, Evelyn came back in a new clothes and sat down.
"Did you remember the things you have confessed last night." Lu yichen started first.
"No, I don't." She stammerred. Did she spilled all her secrets while drunk. She is never going to get drunk from now on.
"Wh...what did I confess." She asked cautiously while maintaining her calm face but her hands were sweating.
"Oh, so, tell me Eve, according to you, I'm into man or women." He scrutinized her seriously.
"How would I know?" She muttered.
"Then, why did you come up with such idea that I'm into man also that man is my Subordinate?" He questioned her.
"No..it's just...it's just" scared Evelyn was not able find words to defend.
"Because Leon said something foolish, you believed him. Are you that gullible and yet you say you are not child." He reprimanded her.
"Oh, yes. I won't do it again." Evelyn seemed to recall her shifting blame to Leon last night, so she didn't argue with him and let him think that way. He looked scary when he is angry, she didn't not want his wrath.
"Good, if you have any doubt, ask me directly. Don't have any strange ideas or else I'm going take out the television." He warned her.
"Of course, I will listen to you." Now, she felt, she is quite stupid to think that way and even made plan to scheme against him. If she had succeeded in her plan, the thought of his action was enough to sacre her.
"Umm" Lu yichen walked out and Evelyn also followed him downstairs.
"Alex, are you not going to work today." She asked as he was not wearing his usual suit today and also not living when it is time to go to office.
"No, I'm on leave." He answered which does not seems to go well with her as she scrunched her face. She thought, he must be the boss, why would he need leave.
At the underground, Lu yichen walked towards the certain cell. The cell was relatively dark, and Sebastian was also in there sitting in a small tool holding a scalpel in his hand.
"Yo, even you came to join the fun today." Sebastian smirked at him.
"Did he spilled anything valuable." Lu yichen asked not minding Sebastian's remark.
"No so far. Just usual, as how he got greedy and wanted to steal the gems for himself, the very reason he reported to the police." Sebastian smiled at the man in front of him who is cowering in fear while saying this.
"Oh, really!" Lu yichen also smiled at the man which is very unusual. This smile is clearly not the same one Evelyn has seen but this smile is something that can evoke endless fear filled with darkness.
"You seem to have been merciful lately,no? Otherwise, it has been 7 hours, we caught this guy, yet he has just lost his thumb from both of his hand." Lu yichen chuckled. This made even Sebastian shudder in fear.
But, Sebastian seemed to have some loose wire in his brain, as even though he was scared, his eyes sparkle with admiration for Lu yichen, his boss, the first person, he has acknowledged in his twenty two years of life.
"Boss, I was just starting. But, if you have better idea, please carry on. I will be the witness and learn new things." Sebastian said with real joy, this time not with his pretentious smile.
But, their conversation sent a chill through the man's spine, the same man who is chained in that cell and the same man who is going to be the victim of their play.
Lu yichen casually, took out the the small knife but it's sharpness is something that can cut the flesh of even rougher skin.
"Do you know what 'Ling chi' is? Oh you won't know. It is something I have learnt from my father!" He slowly but smoothly put the knife at the cheek of the man.
"It is a slow slicing method. The method that involves cutting the flesh of victim in thousands of times. Like this! " He cut the cheeks of man with knife followed by cut in the shoulder.
"Don't worry. You won't die immediately. I'm very good at knife, you won't die. I believe in following the process. " He smirked . "Unless I cut thousand times,I won't let you die."
He pointed his knife at the man's heart but didn't cut there, "And this is for the last." Saying this, he cut the man's another shoulder.
The man was, so sacred by this time. He was working for this mafia and was getting enough but his greed led him to betray his boss. He has heard, how scary this young mafia could be, but this is the first time, he is witnessing and even taking the wrath.
"I will say. It's the man who is in charge of the mission. He asked me to inform the bureau and in return I will get lots of benefits. Please show mercy! I will not betray you again." The man pleaded, no longer wanting this torture.
"You should have said earlier, otherwise it would not be this gore. Though ,As a reward, I will grant you an easy escape." Lu yichen smiled. And just, as the man was about to take a relief, he cut his neck leaving him to die.
"Boss, you are amazing. You should come more often to this place. But, don't you think, you could have gotten more information." Sebastian said.
"He doesn't know anything more. Let Liam investigate about that person. He is quite brave to have gotten high position in my mafia yet planning to betray me." While saying this he left the cellar.
In the living hall, Evelyn noticed Lu yichen, but he was covered in blood.
"Alex, what happened? Are you hurt? " She asked him worried.
"No, this is not my blood." For Lu yichen this was usual routine and even for the people working here. But, this time he forgot, there is also a little girl taking refuge in his house. So, not wanting to explain anything, he hurriedly walked towards his room to get washed.
"No, you are not. Let me check if are hurt or not. Don't hide from me." Evelyn followed after him. For her, lu yichen is a good man who cared for her when she is sick, now she also want to take care of him.
"There was a fight among the bodyguard. It got escalated to the point of them getting hurt. The blood is really not mine. " He assured her.
"Let me see first, then I will believe." She was adamant on her decision.
"See, there is nothing." He showed her by pulling his shirt a little.
"Go dress up, I will take you out, Tonight." Lu yichen said this, so she could leave and do not interrogate further.
"Oh really! Is this night drive?." Her eyes lit up.
"Yes, now go. Don't be late or I won't take you." He told her.
"Oh yes, then I will be waiting!"Happily Evelyn walked towards her own room to get ready.
