"These are skill cores. The blue ones can level up a skill, while the gold ones evolve an existing skill."
I blinked in surprise.
"Seriously? So, with this one, I have three blue skill cores and one gold skill core. Does that mean I can level up a skill three times and then evolve it?"
She shook her head.
"No. A skill can only be leveled up once using these cores, and it can only be evolved once. That's why these are given to Elite Unit members on probation—because they only work below level 25. Once you get a class, they become useless."
