Dede hesitated before responding.
"Depends on who died. There's no official reimbursement for families unless the hunters are of significant standing. Most of the time, the dead are either low-level nobodies... or high-caliber individuals."
Timothy narrowed his eyes.
"Meaning...?"
Dede sighed.
"Meaning either someone is trying to cover something up… or they're trying to find something."
Timothy's grip on the phone tightened.
He had a feeling he was about to find out which one.
"Normal hunters wouldn't use these means, so if you're hiding something, you'll attract rats looking to profit from your misfortune. But if you're on the other end, protecting something, then your enemies should be more worried. Because your death won't rest in peace."
Mr. Dede's voice remained calm, his words casual as he spoke over the phone.
"What if the monsters in the raid were responsible for the deaths?" Timothy asked, analyzing Dede's words.
