I stood before Gonzalo, feeling as if the world around me had slowed to a crawl. My mind was a whirlwind of emotions, fear, anger, frustration, all fighting for dominance. Yet, I knew I had to keep my cool. This was the plan, after all. I had to let him believe he had the upper hand, even as my heart pounded fiercely inside me.
Gonzalo's eyes roamed over me with a cold, calculating look. His gaze dripped with disdain, and I could feel the weight of his contempt in every word he spoke. "You're a pathetic little thing, aren't you?" he sneered, his voice cutting through the air like a sharp knife. His words were designed to wound, to diminish me, but I refused to let them break me.
