"Suspect? Seriously?"
Arthur's expression remained stoic, but his eyes betrayed a whirlwind of shock and disbelief as he glanced at Chief Tom and Jessica.
The tension in the room was palpable, mirrored by the astonished faces of Julian and the others who had accompanied Arthur to the living room.
"Chief Tom, what makes you think I'm a suspect? When the incident occurred, I was right here in my study, never left this mansion! You can check the surveillance cameras or ask my family; I haven't gone anywhere since yesterday. So how can you label me a suspect?" Arthur's voice was steady but laced with frustration.
"Mr. Arthur, whether you like it or not, you are a suspect," Jessica interjected coldly, her gaze piercing through him, though a hint of mockery flickered in her eyes.
Arthur narrowed his eyes dangerously at her before turning back to Chief Tom. "You'd better have some evidence to back up your claims or else I won't be going anywhere."
