Rest Cities were like labyrinths.
They were all real populated cities in the past. Considering the location, this one was probably somewhere in the middle of what used to be Europe. They were made to be lived in, which meant that their original structure could become familiar with time.
The current Rest Cities could also become familiar, but it was almost impossible to memorize the layout of the entire city.
With the countless collapsed buildings that had become separators for different sectors, the various underground passages and areas, and the changes that had been made in the past thousand years, each Rest City was a maze of its own.
Usually, only its residents were privy to the best ways to get around. It was the same this time. Gio didn't know the best path he could take to leave the city.
But he knew how Rest Cities worked, and he knew how to lose a tail.
