Kara sat cross-legged on the couch, a slice of pizza halfway to her mouth, eyes lazily drifting over the news report playing on the TV. "Mutant Registration Act," she mumbled through a bite, chewing thoughtfully. "That sounds stupid."
Across the room, Natasha was sipping her coffee, completely unbothered. "It is."
Jean, lounging nearby, didn't even look up from her book. "That's politics for you."
Kara tilted her head, watching the screen as the suited senator droned on about the "mutant threat." She wrinkled her nose. "Why hasn't anyone just stopped them?"
Natasha sighed, placing her cup down with a quiet clink. "Because this is how human governments work. It's a long process. There are discussions, votes, amendments—"
Kara waved a hand. "That sounds inefficient. I'll just go talk to them."
A collective pause.
Jean lowered her book, expression blank. "What."
Storm sat up straighter. "You mean… like a press conference?"
Kara blinked at her. "No, like in person."
Natasha set her cup down slower this time. "Kara."
Wanda, who had been swirling her tea with a lazy smirk, suddenly seemed much more interested. "This could be entertaining."
Jean groaned. "Kara, you can't just teleport into the Senate."
Kara grinned. "Why not?"
Natasha massaged her temples. "Because that's not how you handle political affairs."
"Sounds like a them problem," Kara said, standing up and stretching.
Gwen, arms crossed, gave an amused glance toward the others. "Anyone wanna bet on how fast this escalates into a full-blown international crisis?"
Before anyone could stop her, Kara vanished.
Jean pinched the bridge of her nose. "Goddamn it."
Natasha exhaled sharply. "This is going to be a disaster."
Storm sighed. "Should we even try to stop her?"
Wanda sipped her tea, smirking. "Absolutely not."
Meanwhile, in Congress…
It was an ordinary day of bureaucratic nonsense when, without warning, a golden blur smashed through the ceiling.
Glass shattered, debris rained down, and suddenly—a woman stood in the center of the chamber.
The Senate floor erupted into chaos.
Men screamed. Security scrambled for their weapons.
Cameras flashed.
The female senators, meanwhile, were having a completely different reaction.
"Oh my God," one of them whispered, clutching her pearls. "She's gorgeous."
Another one sighed dreamily. "Is she single?"
Kara, completely oblivious to all of this, casually dusted off her jacket. "Alright, which one of you is responsible for this nonsense?"
The room fell silent.
Senator Kelly, who had been mid-speech about the dangers of mutantkind, was now frozen in place, trembling.
Kara's eyes locked onto him.
"You," she said, stepping forward. "Explain."
Senator Kelly visibly sweated.
Security hesitated. They were armed, but something about her presence made them second-guess their entire career choices.
Kara placed her hands on her hips, tilting her head. "Well?"
Kelly opened his mouth. Nothing came out.
His throat bobbed.
The other senators stared, watching the power dynamic unfold.
Kara smiled. "Are you the one making all these bad decisions?"
Kelly flinched.
He stammered, his entire political career flashing before his eyes. "W-We're… w-we're reconsidering everything!"
Kara nodded approvingly. "Good. Glad we had this talk."
And with that, she teleported away.
Back at home…
The harem was already watching the news.
The footage was playing on repeat.
Natasha stood there, arms crossed, watching in absolute disbelief.
Jean's hand was on her face. "I can't believe she actually did it."
Wanda was laughing into her tea. "That was even better than I imagined."
Kara teleported back in, looking pleased with herself.
She walked past the group, grabbed another slice of pizza, and casually sat down. "Fixed it."
Silence.
Natasha exhaled, slowly.
Jean, eyes closed, rubbed her temples.
Storm sighed heavily.
Gwen was barely containing her laughter.
"Kara," Natasha finally said, "you didn't fix anything."
Kara frowned, chewing. "Yes, I did. He said they were reconsidering."
Jean groaned. "Kara, you scared the man into submission. That's not how laws work."
Storm shook her head. "This is worse than before."
Gwen snickered. "No, no, this is hilarious."
Wanda just smirked. "I'm enjoying the consequences."
Kara, completely unconcerned, waved a hand. "I'm sure it'll be fine."
The harem collectively disagreed.
And somewhere in Washington D.C., Senator Kelly was currently having a full-blown breakdown.
Cut to Congress…
Kelly was pale, hands shaking as he paced in his office.
The lights flickered.
He kept seeing her face. Her piercing blue eyes.
He gritted his teeth. "I won't be intimidated."
His hand clenched into a fist.
If they thought he would back down, they were dead wrong.
"Pass the bill," he snarled at his aide. "Make it harsher."
The aide hesitated. "But sir, we—"
Kelly slammed his fist on the desk. "DO IT!"
Meanwhile, Kara was still convinced she had won.
"Hey, do you guys think they have a special government budget for alien-related building repairs?"
Jean slowly turned her head. "What?"
Kara shrugged, finishing another slice of pizza. "Well, I kinda crashed through their ceiling, but, like, they should have a fund for that, right? I mean, in my world, the Justice League had one."
The room was silent.
Natasha sighed. "Kara."
Kara smiled. "They'll be fine."
The harem disagreed.
And the world was about to get a lot messier.
