Chapter 76 - Chapter 76

As soon as Jia Fuhai returned home, Zhen Linna pounced on him.

"Brother Hai, I'm starving! Hurry up!" Zhen Linna cried out in hunger.

"You've eaten so much cake already, you won't starve," Chen Lina, her mother, said disapprovingly.

"Mom, I'll go cook first," Jia Fuhai said, gently pushing Zhen Linna aside.

Unlike his son, who couldn't resist, Jia Fuhai had enough strength to handle her easily.

Zhen Linna turned to her sister. "Sister, why didn't you ask me to play with you?"

Zhen Linqi rolled her eyes. "Go play somewhere else," she said. She wanted to check on her sons.

"Dad, how are Qiyi and Naji doing?" Zhen Linqi entered the room quietly and asked her father, careful not to disturb her sons.

"Same as always. Qiyi learns faster. Maybe they should study separately?" Zhen Fugui suggested, noticing the different learning paces of his grandsons.

"It's fine. They're still young. The two brothers should learn together. That way, they won't be lonely," Zhen Linqi decided after some thought.

She knew her son had an extraordinary memory, akin to hyperthymesia, but without the drawbacks. Her sister's son wasn't bad either—though he didn't have an extraordinary memory, he had his own strengths.

Naji was lively and active, just like his mother Nana. His agility allowed him to pull off all kinds of stunts, like the street dance moves he saw on TV.

Both brothers had their own advantages.

"You're just afraid Naji will feel left behind," Zhen Fugui pointed out.

"Don't worry. You should've seen the looks on the faces of those chess club members when Naji beat them," Zhen Linqi chuckled.

"Yeah, it's hilarious!" Zhen Fugui added, laughing. He had witnessed the entire event. Recently, Naji had even started playing two opponents at once. Feeling his opponents weren't strong enough, he insisted on playing against more people.

Even though the chess club members kept losing, their skills were improving rapidly.

"Having a genius grandson can be a bit dull. He doesn't get any sense of accomplishment," Zhen Fugui said, half-joking.

"...Dad, why don't you stop showing off and let me handle it?"

Zhen Linqi was exasperated. Why was her father boasting to her, the mother of the child? Didn't she already know?

"No, daughter. You handle everything else at home. I'll take care of my grandsons," Zhen Fugui said firmly.

To ensure he could take care of his grandsons, he had bought a house upstairs and turned down all social invitations from his friends.

Watching his grandsons study, Zhen Linqi decided to video chat with Director Gao to check on the cake factory.

Meanwhile, the two brothers, Jia Qiyi and Jia Naji, continued to play chess. While others couldn't keep up with them, they found the game exciting.

Jia Qiyi, like his mother, was a bit crafty. To avoid being caught in the face-pulling games his younger brother often got involved in, he schemed a little, letting his younger brother take the fall.

Of course, he also cared for Naji in his own way. With his superior memory, if he hadn't spent time reading and playing chess with Naji, he would've won every game long ago.

So, he balanced his time between reading books on cooking and chemistry and playing chess with Naji.

Their chess skills remained closely matched.

Like his mother, Jia Qiyi was a little sneaky but still cared for his younger brother.

Zhen Linqi had always been a bit mischievous, while her sister, who had been spoiled by her, was carefree and playful.

Naji's personality mirrored his mother's—active and energetic. However, his small body still limited what he could achieve for now.

It was clear that both brothers took after their mothers. If they had taken after Jia Fuhai, they'd be doomed.

Imitating their father's bad habits at such a young age would be such a waste of their talent.

Luckily, Zhen Linqi was there to guide her sons. Without her, things could've turned out very differently.

Later in the evening, after dinner, Jia Fuhai was about to check the online buzz about Jia Ji.

"Brother Hai, let's play a game together! I haven't played the new game that just won Game of the Year," Zhen Linna said, grabbing his arm and shaking it excitedly.

"What game is that? Isn't it Black Monkey?" Jia Fuhai asked. He had played Black Monkey with several girls. With close to 30 million copies sold, he assumed it was Black Monkey.

"No, it's Sozi Robot. It was voted Game of the Year. Come on, let's try it!" Zhen Linna said excitedly.

"Are you kidding? I haven't even heard of it," Jia Fuhai said, raising an eyebrow.

Zhen Linna quickly pulled up the information on her phone and handed it to him.

As he read the news, he was confused. "That's the Game of the Year?"

Looking at the winner, which had only sold tens of thousands of copies, he didn't know what to say.

Even if the award had gone to an old favorite like Elden Ring DLC or Final Fantasy, it wouldn't have been a big deal. But this?

"You can play it by yourself. I'm not interested," Jia Fuhai said, shaking his head. The award decision had been a mess, and he had no interest in the game.

"Hmph! I'll play alone then!" Zhen Linna huffed and stomped off.

Unbothered, Jia Fuhai turned back to the Internet to check how Jia Ji was gaining popularity.

Many people had posted short essays about their personal experiences with Jia Ji cakes on local Hong Kong social media platforms, and they were quite popular.

One of the stories was about Xiao Chen, a white-collar worker with a monthly salary of 20,000 yuan. Although his company provided meals, he preferred ordering takeout.

A few days ago, the company unexpectedly distributed cakes as snacks, and after just one bite, Xiao Chen was blown away by how delicious it was.

His colleagues were equally smitten with the cake.

Intrigued, Xiao Chen examined the packaging closely. Normally, if the food was just average, he wouldn't have bothered. But this cake was different.

He saw the Jia Ji brand name on the packaging and immediately searched for more information on the official website.

The cake he had eaten was rated one star on the packaging, but it was so delicious that he wondered what the five-star cakes must taste like.

He had a good relationship with his director, so he asked if there was a place to buy the higher-rated cakes.

The director hesitated. He only knew that the cakes came from the boss, and as a director, he had received three-star cakes.

Patting Xiao Chen on the shoulder, the director said, "Relax. There'll be more during lunch. We've still got the two-star ones."

The director hadn't mentioned that he had eaten the three-star cake. It was too good to share.

At lunch, Xiao Chen tried the two-star Jia Ji cake distributed by the company, which was even more delicious than the one-star version.

Growing more curious, he asked the chef where the cakes came from, but the chef shrugged, clueless.

Desperate, Xiao Chen called the manufacturer, but the line was always busy.

With no other choice, he turned to powerful netizens online for help.
