Chapter 31 - Chapter 31

At the hospital.

"Yawn~" Lin Feifei, with panda-like eyes, let out a big yawn.

"Feifei, you're studying medicine. Don't overdo it with your playtime," Dr. Li Lian sternly scolded her disciple as she observed Feifei's state.

Although Feifei's medical foundation was not strong, she had worked diligently to improve, and Dr. Li had long since treated her as a future successor.

"Yes, Dr. Li," Lin Feifei respectfully replied, remembering to address her mentor by title during work hours. Of course, when they were outside of the hospital, she could call her 'Master.'

Dr. Li shook her head, understanding that Feifei was still young and indulging in occasional enjoyment was acceptable as long as it didn't hinder her studies.

"Next patient!" Dr. Li called out before turning back to her apprentice, "Go clear your head. I'll be watching you diagnose the next one."

"Understood, Dr. Li." Lin Feifei quickly went to get some coffee and freshen up.

Now that she had reached the point of diagnosing patients, her master watched her closely to ensure accuracy. Even though she was still very much a beginner, she was fortunate to have chosen a mentor who gave her plenty of opportunities to practice and corrected her mistakes along the way.

However, after taking a sip of coffee, Lin Feifei suddenly felt a wave of nausea.

She wondered if she was pregnant. Could it really be that accurate? Her husband had joked about it, but could it have happened so quickly?

She quickly checked her pulse.

Frowning, Lin Feifei noticed some irregularities in her abdomen's pulse—a possible sign that she was pregnant.

Was it true? She immediately rushed to Dr. Li.

"Dr. Li, can you check my pulse? I think I might be pregnant."

"Hmm..." Dr. Li raised an eyebrow at the sudden request, but she reached out to check her disciple's pulse.

Sure enough, she detected the initial formation of a fetus.

Dr. Li sighed heavily and looked at Feifei, her voice filled with concern. "Feifei, it seems you're indeed pregnant. Sigh~"

Seeing the expression on her disciple's face, she knew this child would be born, but she couldn't help worrying—Feifei was just starting her medical studies.

"Don't worry, Master. Even if I'm pregnant, I can still continue my studies," Lin Feifei reassured her mentor. She had been longing for a baby, especially now.

Dr. Li wanted to say more but held back. Finally, she let out another deep sigh—what could she do? Her disciple had made her decision.

"Fine, but Feifei, take good care of yourself from now on."

Lin Feifei caressed her flat stomach, smiling gently.

Back at the Jia family home.

After reading the baking books yesterday, Jia Fuhai began working on kneading dough after the family finished their meal. The two little ones, with their tiny arms and legs, were too young to handle kneading, so he took over.

Meanwhile, Chen Lina was chatting with her sisters.

Zhen Fugui waited for the children to naturally wake up from their naps.

Jia Fuhai, while kneading the dough, thought back to some techniques he saw in short videos. Thanks to his natural talent, he was able to knead the dough into all kinds of shapes with ease.

He even shaped the dough into an exact likeness of Qiqi (Jia Qiyi), perfectly resembling him, except for the lack of color.

As he was playing with the dough in the kitchen, Zhen Lina wandered over.

She had a habit of sticking close to her husband whenever she had free time. After chatting with her mom, she immediately joined Jia Fuhai.

"Wow! Hai Ge, this is... wow, it looks just like Qiqi!" Zhen Lina was amazed at how accurately her husband had shaped the dough—it was a spitting image of their son.

"Hai Ge, your hands are so skilled. You can even shape dough like this!" Zhen Lina admired the detailed contours of the dough, eagerly washing her hands to join in.

"It's easy if you have hands!" Jia Fuhai chuckled lightly.

"Hmph! I want to try, too." Zhen Lina started kneading the dough, hoping to replicate her husband's artistry.

However, no matter how much she tried, the dough she shaped just didn't look right. She frowned, frustrated with her failed attempts.

"How does Hai Ge do this?"

In the end, Zhen Lina felt a bit disheartened—Jia Fuhai made it look so easy, but everything she kneaded came out looking nothing like it should.

"Because you're just not good at it!" Jia Fuhai teased, continuing to knead without stopping.

Suddenly, he noticed the two little ones walking past the kitchen. He quickly pointed at the prepared food and told Zhen Lina, "Lina! Go serve the boys their meal."

Zhen Lina immediately washed her hands and began serving the food.

"Mommy!"

"Na-ma!"

The two little ones excitedly called out when they saw Zhen Lina.

"Yes, my darlings." Zhen Lina responded with a warm smile, placing the food in front of them before playfully pinching little Jia Naji.

Jia Qiyi couldn't help but giggle—he already knew how much his younger brother attracted the ladies!

Jia Naji, on the other hand, had an awkward expression on his face.

Seeing his sons in the kitchen, Jia Fuhai stopped playing around and got serious, preparing the dough properly.

In no time, Jia Fuhai brought out several trays of dough, followed by a few ovens that he moved into the room.

"Qiyi, come here," Jia Fuhai called out to his son as soon as Zhen Lina began clearing their plates.

"Coming!" Zhen Linqi, who was in the living room, answered.

"Honey, what are you up to?" Zhen Linqi asked as she walked in.

"Let's have a family bonding activity," Jia Fuhai grinned.

"Hai Ge, are you going to teach the boys how to bake now?" Zhen Lina, who knew the boys had been reading about baking yesterday, was surprised by how quickly Jia Fuhai was putting things into action.

Usually, he wasn't this efficient.

The two little ones also fixed their gazes on their father, curious.

"Ahem! Jia Qiyi, you're going to direct Mommy on how to bake. Jia Naji, you'll do the same with Mommy Lina. You two read the baking books yesterday, so you should know how to do this, right?"

Jia Fuhai spoke to his sons, then turned to his sisters-in-law, "Linqi, Lina, just follow their instructions. Do exactly what the boys tell you to do, and let's see whose creation turns out better."

"Sounds fun!" Zhen Linqi immediately agreed, finding the idea interesting.

"This is going to be fun!" Zhen Lina echoed enthusiastically.

Zhen Fugui, watching the happy family, felt a bit sour. He realized he was just a bystander in their activities, but it did seem like they were having fun.

"Qiyi, Naji, the ingredients are all ready. Tell your moms how to add them and let them know what to do. You guys can take the lead—I'll be baking alongside you."

"Got it."

"Sure!"

The two little ones didn't object; they found the idea novel and refreshing—much better than just playing games or doing puzzles all day.

"Dad, Mom, do you want to join us?" Jia Fuhai turned to his in-laws, who were sitting on the sidelines, and asked.

"No, no. You all go ahead. I'll just wait to taste what my grandsons bake," Zhen Fugui said, believing that this bonding activity was more suited for mothers and children. He was content watching from the side.

"Go ahead and have fun, dear," Chen Lina added when she noticed her son-in-law's glance.

"Alright, then." Jia Fuhai shrugged in response.
