Ady had been silent the whole time we were driving. She had her poker face on and I couldn't guess what was going on in her mind. I kept talking to her occasionally, without getting any response.
I stopped the sedan on a lonely road just at the edge of a forest and went to her side to open the door. We had changed our ride in a secluded place to avoid being traced.
She came out silently and started walking ahead. I followed her like a lost puppy.
"Ady."
She didn't listen or react. The only sounds around us were the snap and crunch of twigs and leaves and the chirping of birds as we kept walking deeper into the forest.
I called her a few more times but got no response. Her silence was frustrating and I couldn't control it anymore. Taking a few long strides, I grabbed her arm before pulling her to me.
