Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: Auction

(Tuesday, May 21, 2024 – 11:06 AM)

The energy in the festival shifted as the crowd gathered near the stage, eager for one of the most anticipated events of the day, the slave auction.

A spotlight flickered on, illuminating the host standing at the center of the stage. Dressed in a flashy gold suit, microphone in hand, he spread his arms dramatically.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! Welcome to this year's legendary slave auction!" His voice boomed through the speakers, excitement surging through the students. "For those of you who don't know, here's how it works! The girls of our school get to bid on a guy of their choice, and whoever wins gets to have him as their personal servant for the day!"

Laughter, cheers, and some nervous murmuring spread through the audience.

"And don't forget, this is a real auction! Bidding is done with actual cash! So ladies, get your wallets ready, and gentlemen, prepare to be SOLD!"

The cheers grew even louder.

The host gestured dramatically to the side. "Alright! Time to bring up our first contestant, Lee Sangmin!"

A nervous-looking second-year with dyed orange hair was pushed onto the stage. He awkwardly rubbed his neck, forcing a weak smile.

"Alright, ladies! This fine young man is loyal, hardworking, and… well, let's be honest, a little broke! But look at that hair! That's dedication!"

A few girls giggled.

Then, one raised her hand. "10,000 won!"

"15,000!"

"25,000!"

Lee Sangmin perked up. 'Not bad… maybe a cute girl will buy me..'

Then, suddenly-

"100,000 won!"

Silence.

Heads turned toward the back, where a girl with thick glasses and braces was holding up a stack of bills.

Lee Sangmin's face turned pale.

"SOLD!" the host declared. "To the lady in the back!"

The girl grinned, rushing forward to claim her prize.

Lee Sangmin, however, looked like he had just witnessed his own funeral.

The crowd burst into laughter.

"Bro's about to have the worst day of his life."

"RIP, Sangmin."

Sangmin was dragged away with his soul visibly leaving his body.

Everyone at the school knew this girl, as she is famous for cooking straight up poison that she calls food forcing weak males to eat.

The auction continued.

Next was Choi Minwoo, a muscular third-year with a strong jawline and slicked-back hair.

"Ladies, feast your eyes on Choi Minwoo! Confident, stylish, and most importantly, SINGLE!"

"50,000 won!"

"70,000!"

"150,000!"

A beautiful girl with long black hair raised her hand. "200,000 won!"

Minwoo flashed a charming smile, running a hand through his hair. "Guess I'm worth a lot."

The host slammed his mic down. "SOLD!"

The crowd cheered as the girl walked up proudly, linking her arm with Minwoo's.

The auction went on, with some guys crying in happiness after getting bought by pretty girls.

And others collapsing in defeat as they were claimed by someone they never expected.

Then came the moment everyone was waiting for.

"Alright, everyone! It's time for our NEXT contestant! The one and only.... VASCO!"

The Burn Knuckles leader stormed onto the stage with his chest puffed out with muscles flexing as he struck a powerful pose.

"I WILL SERVE WITH HONOR!" he shouted proudly.

Silence.

The girls in the crowd looked at each other.

Some whispered.

Some took a step back.

Not a single hand was raised.

The host fidgeted. "Uh… any bidders?"

More silence.

Vasco's smile faltered. His bright, hopeful eyes slowly dimmed.

Jace, standing off to the side, gently patted his back.

"Boss… maybe next year…"

"I-It's okay, Jace… I will endure…!"

Tears streamed down Vasco's face.

The host awkwardly cleared his throat. "Alright… moving on! Up next, ELI JANG!"

The atmosphere changed instantly.

As Eli stepped onto the stage, the entire crowd exploded into screams.

"OH MY GOD, IT'S ELI!"

"I'M READY TO SELL MY SOUL FOR HIM!"

"I'LL GO BROKE FOR THIS MAN!"

The bidding started immediately.

"500,000 won!"

"700,000!"

"1,000,000!"

Girls were losing their minds, frantically waving cash in the air.

Then, just as things reached a fever pitch, a group of girls from the Beauty Department stormed the stage.

"ENOUGH!"

The crowd froze.

Eli simply raised an eyebrow, amused.

The leader of the Beauty Department stepped forward in a dead serious expression.

"No one else is allowed to bid!"

Murmurs rippled through the crowd.

"Eli belongs to us!"

The host struggled not caring. "Well, I guess that settles it. Eli Jang, SOLD to the Beauty Department!"

The moment the words left his mouth, the Beauty Department girls swarmed Eli, forming a wall around him.

Eli simply let out a soft chuckle as he was whisked away.

Some girls in the audience groaned in disappointment.

Others pouted, defeated.

The host wiped his forehead dramatically. "Phew! Alright, folks! We're just getting started! Stay tuned for our next contestant!"

The crowd roared in excitement.

But among them, there was one name that hadn't been called yet.

One name that was inevitable.

(11:22 AM)

When he came, even before the announcement, the crowd erupted into chaos.

If Eli Jang's bidding war was intense, then Daniel's auction was absolute insanity.

Girls screamed his name, waving stacks of cash like their lives depended on it.

"500,000 won!"

"800,000!"

"1,200,000!"

The host could barely keep up as numbers soared higher than any previous bid.

At the center of it all, Daniel stood motionless, a blank look on his face as the girls fought over him like wild animals.

'This is worse than I expected…'

"3,000,000 WON!"

Silence.

Heads turned toward the new bidder, Lala Kim.

A rich student from a prestigious private school, Lala flicked her hair, smirking confidently.

"That's right, ladies. This one's mine."

Gasps spread through the crowd.

"She's rich as hell, there's no way anyone can beat that."

"I heard her family's connected to politicians."

But just as the host was about to declare the sale-

"4,000,000."

The voice was calm and composed.

Heads snapped toward the new challenger.

A girl stood at the front with her cold and piercing gaze fixed on Daniel.

Crystal Choi.

The moment Daniel saw her, his thoughts paused.

'Crystal Choi...'

He immediately analyzed her, comparing her real-life presence to what he remembered from the original story.

In this body, Crystal possessed unrivaled beauty.

Her long, silky black hair, her sharp, striking eyes, her curvy yet toned physique, everything about her stood out.

Ever since she transformed from her past overweight self, she had become the sexiest, hottest, and most gorgeous girl in the country.

So stunning that she could have any man she wanted.

And yet, despite her flawless appearance, Daniel's focus wasn't on her.

It was on the man standing behind her.

Gun Park.

Unlike the chaos around them, Gun seemed completely uninterested. His hands were tucked into his pockets with his cold, reverse eyes behind the glasses scanning the festival lazily.

'Gun is here…'

He knew that the canon is still intact.

But before he could think further..

"Going once! Going twice! SOLD to Crystal Choi!"

The host's voice rang through the air.

Lala Kim clicked her tongue, frustrated, but backed off.
