Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: The Start of an Revolt

Isaac slowly opened his eyes, his vision hazy as he lay on the ground, defeated. A dull ache spread through his body, but the pain was nothing compared to the turmoil in his mind. How had he lost? The thought gnawed at him, his pride refusing to accept the reality of his defeat.

A hand entered his vision. Hellesa stood above him, offering to help him up. He hesitated for a moment, staring at her with a mix of frustration and disbelief. Then, with a quiet grunt, he refused her assistance and pushed himself up on his own. His legs felt weak, but his determination burned stronger than ever. He clenched his fists, his mind filled with a single, unwavering resolve—he had to defeat her, no matter what.

As he struggled to make sense of what had happened, Maria approached him, concern evident in her voice.

"Isaac, I need to talk to you."

Isaac barely acknowledged her, still lost in his thoughts. But when he finally spoke, his words were laced with frustration.

"How did she become so strong in such a short time? She was training on her own, yet she surpassed me..." He shook his head. "It doesn't make sense."

Maria's expression darkened. "I noticed something strange while she was training," she said. "She was talking to herself, but her voice kept changing. At times, it felt like someone else was speaking through her. And... there was this eerie sensation surrounding her. I couldn't shake the feeling that there's more to her than we realize. I think—no, I'm certain—there are two souls inside her body."

Isaac's eyes widened. "Two souls?" His mind raced as he recalled the gradual changes in Hellesa's demeanor. He hadn't paid much attention before, but now that Maria mentioned it, there was something... different about her. Something unsettling.

Before he could respond, another voice cut in.

"Yeah, she started changing after she got that claw." Izaki stepped forward, his arms crossed. "I've always had a bad feeling about that weapon. There's definitely something off about it."

Isaac turned sharply. "Woah, Izaki! What are you doing here? You're not supposed to be part of this conversation."

Izaki smirked, unfazed by Isaac's reaction. "I don't care."

Maria sighed. "Whatever, just leave it."

There was a brief silence before Izaki spoke again. "Should we ask her about this? Confront her directly?"

Isaac's expression hardened. "No."

Izaki frowned. "Why not? If there's something going on, we need to know."

Isaac clenched his jaw, his mind replaying the fight over and over. He needed to understand Hellesa's strength first. He needed to surpass her. If there was truly another soul inside her, if the claw was the key to her power, then he would find out on his own. Confronting her now would only raise suspicions, and he wasn't ready for that. Not yet.

"We'll figure this out," he said, more to himself than the others. "But not like this."

Maria and Izaki exchanged glances but didn't push further. The weight of uncertainty hung over them, but for now, they had no choice but to wait... and watch.

(The scene switches to the BCB office.)

Agent 78 leaned back in his chair, frustration evident on his face. "Ugh, the only reason he's our boss is because he's the chairman's son. He doesn't have a single trait of his father. Reckless, carefree… The reason we lost Council Member 0 was entirely due to his negligence."

Agent 68 sighed, crossing his arms. "I'm fed up with him too."

Agent 57 scoffed. "I want to get rid of him. I'm seriously considering going with Akin."

Agent 68 nodded grimly. "That idiot might even remove us if we don't stay on his good side."

Just then, Agent 99 strolled in, a casual grin on his face. "What's up, guys? What are you all talking about?"

Agent 78 didn't hesitate. "About our domestically violated boss."

Agent 99 blinked. "Wait… you're talking about me?"

Agent 78 rolled his eyes. "How many times do I have to tell you? You are NOT our boss. Your higher number doesn't mean anything. It doesn't make you the leader. We were talking about Merin."

Agent 99 scratched his head. "Oh, right… Sorry for forgetting. But what did he do this time?"

Agent 68 shook his head. "You're new here, so you won't get it yet. But trust me, you'll understand soon enough. The guy is a complete moron."

Before Agent 99 could respond, an employee from BCB approached. "Agent 99, the boss is calling you."

Agent 57 smirked. "You're cooked, bro."

After some time, Agent 99 returned, his face twisted with anger, disappointment, and sadness. He slammed his fist against the nearest desk. "Now I understand your pain, guys."

Agent 78 sighed, leaning back in his chair. "We can't do anything against him anyway. His position is untouchable."

Agent 99, however, wasn't ready to accept defeat. "I have a plan."

Agent 78 raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah? Let's hear it."

Agent 99 leaned in, lowering his voice. "Why don't we turn all the employees against him? If we make everyone resent him, his power will weaken."

Agent 57 shook his head. "We've already tried that a few times."

Agent 68 scoffed. "And it didn't go well at all."

Agent 78 exhaled sharply. "His father always stepped in and crushed our attempts before they gained traction. It's impossible."

Agent 99 smirked. "Then we need a different approach. What if we eliminate someone close to his father… and frame Merin for it?"

The room fell silent for a moment. Then, Agent 78 spoke cautiously. "That's a dangerous game. What if we get caught?"

Agent 57 added, "Even if we don't, we won't have any solid proof that he did it."

Agent 99's eyes gleamed with determination. "Then we create the proof. Fake documents, doctored footage, false witnesses—we set the stage perfectly. But we have to be meticulous and discreet. One wrong move and it's over. The real question is… who should we target?"

Agent 68 thought for a moment before speaking. "What about his father's best friend? He's weak, unguarded, and easy to eliminate. The chairman trusts him deeply. His sudden death would be a huge blow."

Agent 78 nodded slowly. "It could work. But we can't do it ourselves. If we get directly involved, the risk is too high. We need outside help. Someone skilled, someone who won't ask too many questions."

Agent 99's lips curled into a sly grin. "Then we call Akin."

(the scene switches to akin and council member 1's conversation)

Council member 1 said "well well well look who is here. Now understood why we told you that you were on the wrong side." Akin replied "I should have listened to you. So, I want you to hire me now." Council member 1 replied why should I trust you. You may be a secret agent. Prove yourself so that we can trust you." Akin gets a call and he picks it up. He says "what happened Leo (agent 78). Why did you call me." Leo replied "we want your help to kill Merin's father's best friend." Akin replied "huh. Why killing him what did he do." Leo replied "we are fed up of Merin and we want him off his position so we will kill his father's best friend and blame him for that and we will also create some fake proofs." Akin replied "good deal in perfect time." And cut the call and told to council member 1 "you heard what we talked about. If I kill him, will you trust in me." Council member 1 replied "yes we will trust in you if you kill him and we want Merin dead too."
