Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: The Nemeris

(Scene: The Enemy's Communication Hub – The Revelation of Cisco's Death)

(Inside a dimly lit command center, the air is thick with tension. Soldiers rush between communication panels, their eyes scanning glowing monitors filled with strategic maps and live transmissions. A lead officer grips the communicator tightly, his expression darkening as he listens to the transmission crackling in his earpiece.)

Soldier (urgently): "Sir! It's Zenix and his group!"

(The officer's grip tightens. His throat goes dry. Before he can respond, a sharp voice cuts through the static on the other end of the line.)

Kazen (with a scoff): "Shut the hell up, jerk."

(A pause. The voice on the other end—shaky but commanding—demands an answer.)

Mysterious Voice (growing tense): "Who—who are you? And where is Cisco?"

(Kazen smirks, leaning against the ruined wall of the battlefield, blood still drying on his blade.)

Kazen (mocking): "Your so-called 'sir'? We killed him. Drove a hole straight through his heart. I doubt that's something you can fix, so forget about him forever."

(The voice on the other end trembles, a mix of shock and fury creeping in.)

Mysterious Voice (in disbelief): "No... that's impossible! Cisco was incredibly strong! How could you—"

(Kazen cuts him off, his tone turning ice cold.)

Kazen (dangerously): "If you don't stop yapping about that dead fool, you're gonna join him."

(Silence. Then, the transmission cuts. The enemy now knows Cisco has fallen. But Kazen also knows—they won't just sit still after this.)

(Scene: The Resistance – Zenix's Call to Arms)

(A massive underground hideout hums with tension and anticipation. Men and women of various ages, all bearing the scars of oppression, gather in a semicircle around a raised platform. Torches flicker against the stone walls, casting long shadows. At the center of the stage stands Zenix—tall, commanding, and burning with conviction.)

Zenix (his voice ringing with passion): "How many years have you suffered under this oppression? How many times have they taken from you? How many of your loved ones have disappeared without a trace?"

(A ripple of murmurs sweeps through the crowd. Some exchange glances, others clench their fists in silent rage.)

Zenix (leaning forward, his voice fierce): "Don't you wish for liberation? Don't you want freedom?"

(The murmurs grow into a roar of agreement, their voices rising with desperation and fury.)

Zenix (his voice unwavering): "The only way to break free is to join us! Our goal is simple—to destroy the oppressive organization that keeps us in chains. To end their rule once and for all!"

(A surge of cheers erupts. Some raise their weapons; others simply scream in agreement. The tension shifts into unity—a shared desire for vengeance and justice.)

(Zenix raises his fist high, his silhouette cast in shadows.)

Zenix (declaring): "That's what I like to hear! Together, we will bring them down!"

(He gestures toward his team, motioning them forward one by one.)

Zenix (introducing): "Let me introduce my squad. These are the ones who will lead you to victory."

(He points to a figure clad in a dark coat, his hands glowing faintly with a healing aura.)

Zenix: "This is Nesco, our healer."

Nesco (with a curt nod): "Hello, everyone. I'll make sure none of you fall in battle."

(Zenix moves to the next figure—a man with a mischievous grin and a cocky stance.)

Zenix: "And this is Ecro."

Ecro (smirking): "What's up, everyone? It's me, Ecro. Try to keep up, will ya?"

(A few chuckles ripple through the crowd, easing some of the tension.)

(Zenix steps beside a composed, sharp-eyed man with a firm posture.)

Zenix: "This is Isaac, my second-in-command. And beside him, Maria—our sniper."

(Maria remains silent, offering only a slight nod. Her calculating gaze sweeps over the crowd, analyzing each potential recruit.)

(The recruits listen, captivated. The rebellion is growing, and soon, the battle will be upon them.)

(Scene: Hellesa's Group – The Escape to Irnak)

(Back in the war-torn city, the sound of sirens wails in the distance. Smoke billows in the air, mixing with the scent of blood and gunpowder. Izaki winces, pressing a hand against his still-bleeding wound. His breath is ragged, his strength waning.)

Izaki (gritted teeth): "Kazen, enough. We need to leave—fast—before reinforcements arrive."

(Kazen frowns, arms crossed stubbornly.)

Kazen (frustrated): "But you're injured! And none of us know how to drive properly! We should get you to a hospital first."

(Izaki shakes his head, his eyes sharp despite the pain.)

Izaki (firmly): "No, we don't have time. Staying in this city is too dangerous. They know we're here—we need to disappear now."

(A tense silence settles. Kazen clenches his fists but ultimately nods. They have no choice.)

(They pile into an old car, the engine coughing to life. The vehicle screeches onto the dark roads, speeding away from the battlefield. The city lights blur behind them, swallowed by the shadows of the night.)

(Hellesa, gripping the wheel tightly, glances at Izaki.)

Hellesa (urgently): "See if there's a hospital on this route."

(Before Izaki can respond, Kazen interjects.)

Kazen (grimly): "There isn't one nearby."

(Hellesa narrows her eyes, momentarily taking her gaze off the road to glare at him.)

Hellesa (suspicious): "How do you know that?"

(Kazen exhales, staring ahead.)

Kazen (murmuring): "I used to work around this area. Trust me, there's nothing."

(The weight of his words settles between them. There's no stopping now. They must press forward, injured or not.)

(The car speeds through the darkened roads, the moon casting an eerie glow over the landscape. Every shadow feels like an enemy lurking, every mile another step into uncertainty.)

(Ahead lies Irnak—a city of refuge, or perhaps, a battlefield waiting to happen.)

(Their fight isn't over. If anything, it's only just beginning.)
