Ava raised a brow.
"What you did in there," Dennis said, nodding toward the village, "was very impressive."
She smiled.
Dennis arched a brow at her. "Ah, look at that. I thought Lucas had taught you the constant brooding face. You are ugly when you scowl."
"I am not!" she protested.
"Right."
"I am not!"
Dennis chuckled. "Whatever you say, Luna."
Ava rolled her eyes, but the smile lingered.
"I'm not going to risk the life of my people," Dennis continued, sobering slightly. "But if you're really serious about taking Dorian down…" He shrugged. "I can help."
Ava's eyes brightened, and she nodded.
Dennis sighed.
He was so going to regret this.
"So," Ava said after a moment, looking back toward the river. "About this spot?"
Dennis frowned. "What about it?"
"You want us to make some kind of routine so we don't invade each other's private time here?" she suggested.
