Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 – The Final Training

The Weight of an Unmatched Legacy

Reyon stood in the center of the training field, his body drenched in sweat, yet his breathing remained calm. He had been through weeks of relentless training, each session pushing him further beyond his limits.

But this… this was different.

"I should learn and experience fighting against her as much as I can before her condition worsens."

His body still couldn't surpass the 5th Circle, no matter how much he trained. Yet, with Vector Magic and the Symbols, he had already reached the power of an 8th Circle magician—perhaps even stronger.

Still, one thought gnawed at him.

"What kind of existence was Grandpa…?"

Min Hee's power alone was overwhelming. Even at her weakest, she was a force to be reckoned with. And yet, Leywin had defeated her effortlessly.

"These Symbols… I know they make me strong enough to face Grandma. But to dominate her like he did?"

Reyon's fist clenched.

"Could it be that there are more Symbols that he developed? Something beyond what I know?"

Just how far had his grandfather gone?

haa.. he truly was a monstrous genius that no one could match throughout the history of magic to create a whole new magic theory and even implement a system over it using vectors and symbols many would have thought of such a story but implementing it is a different matter

If everyone could have used vectors than i wouldn't have to be so afraid of the dragon that's gonna appear in few years

but that's just a pipe dream they could be lucky enough to have mana vast mana reserves but that kind of comtrol is one of a kind

Even though i am not as excellent control talent as grandpa but am lucky enough to have good enough control to use vectors

more importantly how does a dragon came to after so many centuries out of the blue it can't appear naturally someone created it in same way as cerberus but the mana required for that is so immense how could they have wait could it be the reason behing grandpa's sudden death to kill leywin pheonix who could have can i even match them but why didn't they do something during dragon's rampage when every single human was killed....

But Reyon shook his head. No.

"I won't give up."

Even if he hadn't uncovered everything, he would continue forward.

That was when Min Hee's voice rang out.

"Rest time's over."

Reyon looked up.

Min Hee's piercing gaze met his own.

"It's time for the final training."

She smiled.

"A duel against me."

The Impossible Challenge

Min Hee raised one finger.

"If you land a single clean hit on me, you win."

She raised another.

"If you fail, you lose."

Simple conditions.

Deceptively simple.

Then, Min Hee's next words sent chills down his spine.

"I will fight at full power."

A wave of mana exploded outward from her body.

The entire training field trembled, and the air itself distorted from the sheer force.

Reyon's instincts screamed.

Min Hee wasn't holding back.

Absolute Mana Control – The Power of a 9th Circle Magician

In an instant, Reyon felt it.

The battlefield—no, the very space around him—was warping.

Min Hee raised her hand.

"Gravity Well."

A crushing force yanked Reyon downward. His feet sank into the ground, cracks forming beneath him.

"Distortion Field."

The space around Min Hee shimmered, bending like a mirage.

If Reyon launched an attack, it would twist away before reaching her.

Then—

"Meteor Shower."

A storm of burning rock and flame descended from the sky. Each meteor was large enough to flatten entire buildings.

Reyon's mind raced.

The Counterattack – Elemental Magic & Symbols

Min Hee wasn't just using raw power.

She was warping reality itself.

Any normal magician would already be dead.

But Reyon wasn't normal.

"£ (Epsilon) – Vector Acceleration."

His body blurred, moving at three times his normal speed. The first wave of meteors missed him entirely.

The gravity well still held him down—

"§ (Delta) – Directional Reversal!"

Reyon's momentum flipped, launching him upward instead of downward.

Now, he was in midair—vulnerable.

Min Hee smirked.

"Torrential Spear."

Water condensed in the air, forming a massive trident of high-density mana. It shot toward Reyon at blinding speed.

Reyon grinned.

"You're not the only one who can use magic."

He clapped his hands together.

"Flame Tempest."

A spiral of fire erupted, meeting the water spear head-on. Steam exploded outward, masking his movements.

Through the steam, Reyon's eyes glowed.

"You won't see this coming."

A new Symbol appeared in the air.

σ (Sigma) – Instantaneous Acceleration.

His body vanished.

Min Hee's brows furrowed.

"What?!"

A Vector Afterimage remained where Reyon had been, tricking Min Hee into thinking he was still there.

But Reyon had already moved behind her.

"Stacking – Limit Break."

Ω (Omega) layered with σ (Sigma), stacking onto £ (Epsilon).

A surge of mana poured into his ring—the Ring of Ferica—enhancing his mind to handle the stress.

A thin, almost invisible beam of light formed at his fingertips.

"Vector Laser."

It fired.

The condensed mana beam, compressed to the size of a needle, shot forward at near-light speed.

Min Hee's eyes widened.

She reacted on instinct.

"Distorted Barrier!"

A solid, warped shield of pure mana formed—

But—

The laser pierced through effortlessly.

A single drop of blood fell from Min Hee's finger.

Silence.

Reyon stared in shock.

He hadn't expected it to actually work.

Min Hee looked down at her barely wounded hand.

Then—

She smiled.

"I underestimated you."

Reyon stepped forward, concern in his voice.

"Did I… actually hurt you?"

Min Hee shook her head.

"If I hadn't used my strongest trump card, I might've lost my hand."

She raised her uninjured palm.

"At the 9th Circle, mana follows the magician's will. I dispersed the energy of your attack at the last second."

She glanced at her cut finger.

"But even so…"

She let out a breath.

"You passed."

A heavy weight lifted from Reyon's chest.

"Your power is now strong enough to rival that of a veteran 8th Circle magician."

Min Hee's gaze turned sharp.

"Strong enough to face the Cerberus."

But just as she was about to continue—

Reyon collapsed.

The immense strain of stacking multiple symbols, pushing his mana circuits to their limit, and activating the Ring of Ferica all at once had finally caught up to him.

Darkness swallowed his vision.

The last thing he heard was Min Hee's voice.

"Before you fight, there's something you must know…"

But by then—

He had already lost consciousness.
