Sitting in the lab, I took one more shake at my new compound, which consisted of a variety of enhancers, regenerators, a couple of nutrient blends and a secret ingredient. That ingredient was Thor's blood, obtained during the skirmish in the forest. There wasn't much of it, but I managed to get thirty milligrams of it. After a couple of tests, I was able to realise the disparate differences between this sample and the one from the Asgardian's last visit. This blood was simply overflowing with energy and some other impurities, unlike what was in Thor after the exile. If I were an ordinary scientist I would have puzzled over the reason for such a drastic change in Thor's blood, but thanks to my new knowledge of the mystic arts and the spell of true sight I was able to figure out pretty quickly that the litres I had received had Odin's curse hanging over them. It had simply sealed away most of the blood's power and even after my experimentation and absorption it had only slightly subsided, allowing me to unlock some of the ace's abilities.
The current blood has no such drawbacks and will likely take my powers to a new level or bring me even closer to the asses. When I stopped hypnotising the liquid, I lay down on the couch and drank it. My body immediately became hot and I began to produce litres of sweat. As I learnt later in such a state I spent about an hour, but then my consciousness began to swim and I was not up to the clock hanging on the wall. After an hour I started bleeding from every place you could think of. It only lasted half an hour, during which time a couple of litres of blood came out of me. I think if it wasn't for the enhancers and regenerators taken along with the blood I might have passed out at that point. After I finished bleeding, my body burst into flames, and I said goodbye to my clothes, and a dozen seconds later to the couch, followed by part of the lab. The flames didn't care about the fire suppression system, and the only thing that saved me from sinking too far underground was the three-metre thick layer of iron under the tiles, which stayed under my flaming arse long enough.
The self-ignition stopped as suddenly as it had started. It lasted only four minutes. I didn't wake up for another ten hours after all the changes were over, and when I did, I was a little disoriented and annoyed that I had to rip my body out of the hardened metal. I got out and looked around at the silhouette, which looked more like a fall of a cartoon character than a bad experiment, and looked around the lab. At that moment, the silence of the room was filled with many words poorly known to the American people, among which the universal "bitch" and "fuck" were the most cultured.
Having calmed down a bit and thanking the healthy paranoia that made me put away all the results of research in the best quality safe recently additionally surrounded with rune chains and a couple of signs of asses I decided to evaluate my changes. Already just by listening to the sensations I can say that my flame reserve has increased by two times at least and this is definitely not the limit. With a command, I opened the status.

The addition to my race immediately caught my eye. Was I surprised to see the change? Yes. Did it come as a shock to me? No. I assumed that the changes made by the blood of the royal family of the Asses mixed with the Vans would not go unnoticed. I probably only went through both transformations because of my special body. At first, while the blood was maximally suppressed, my latent metamorphism allowed my body to accept the enhancement and incorporate some of the Ass DNA. This transformation was also helped by the blood I had already drunk, and the changes it brought to my body.
I don't know if I'll ever fully become an Ass or if I'll remain a half-breed, but even that is a definite plus. Asses live for thousands of years and a half-breed can certainly last two or three millennia. Also their blood gives almost eternal youth, and even at the end, when outwardly the Ass looks old, as Odin he is still a machine of death. Already just by looking at the changed parameters I can see the changes starting to happen. My strength jumped by almost a hundred, dexterity increased by forty, and stamina increased by a hundred and fifty. Some of the skills following the parameters also increased a few levels, but most of all I am happy again strengthened light energy absorption and weak interaction with space. These skills started to grow at an insane rate after I started shaping my piece of space. They increase even at times when I'm not using them or practising them. The benefits of owning a space stone, though short-lived, are still popping up to this day.
After noting all the changes and completely calming my resentment about the destruction, I decided to test the work of my newly acquired superpower. From the ticket, I got the copying ability. Initially, I didn't understand its meaning and power, because I couldn't get a copy of any of the items I had chosen for the test. After inanimate things I tried to switch to living creatures, but the hamster acting as a tester of my compositions also did not get new colleagues. But the experiment was not considered a failure, because I felt a response, a weak attempt to create something. After many more tests, I was able to copy my finger, which lasted a full two hours before evaporating.
At this point, I have pretty poor control over my ability and my maximum power is to create two arms or legs with a life time of forty minutes. So I wondered if the change had affected my powers. Standing in front of the empty space, I visualised the full structure of the limbs and the more detailed the picture in my head, the easier they appeared in reality. A few seconds later, bones appeared in front of me, nerves with muscles and smooth skin completed everything. Trying to go further, I was surprised to realise that my strength had increased and I began to model the top of my body. It was slow going, but I was making steady progress upwards. My newfound strength ended at the creation of the lungs. Losing contact with my powers, the unfinished body fell to the floor. Looking at the result, I couldn't help but smile at the partially freshened body with some of the organs falling out. It must have been a fascinating picture, but I didn't want to wait for a coincidence when someone I knew would turn up in my secret laboratory, which by all laws of logic was empty, and catch me at such a peculiar pastime, so I scattered the body.
Having made a plan of action, in which finding clothes was not even in the top ten of importance, I went to the keyboard to check the full level of damage.

A week after taking Thor's blood, I was able to partially restore the lab, and now standing in front of the glass capsule I was looking at a pulsating cocoon growing out of an obscure green mushroom. What kind of mushroom, you ask? Well, here I was wondering the same thing. After the system reboot, I received many rewards and one of them was a ticket for one one-time ability. Such abilities were extremely valuable to me and once even saved my life, so out of all the tickets I activated this one first. The ticket flashed purple and I received a one-time ability to summon a familiar. In the library of Kamarthage I could find a couple of books about creatures that could become familiars, and even the weakest of them could be a good help to a mage. In time, if the surname was originally wild, its intelligence would increase and the mage would have a fully loyal companion. I activated the ticket and under the swirling of space above me a portal opened, from which a green mushroom fell into my hands. You know, if there were demons feeding off the energy of the bummer, I could create a couple of breakthroughs to their plan at that point.
Going back to the lab and examining the mushroom didn't accomplish anything, and I didn't want to ruin a possible helper by losing an opportunity given by the system. I planted this mushroom in a separately created biosphere of 5×5×7 metres. For more than five weeks it just grew and did not show any signs of any difference from ordinary plants, except that the rate of increase of the cocoon on the head of the mushroom was confusing, but considering that the same bamboo can grow by 50 cm in a day, I did not see anything surprising for an alien plant.
And now we come back to the moment of the cocoon's pulsation. The pulsation itself has been going on for thirty minutes and given the increasing frequency there is not much time left. Now the pulsation seems to have peaked and the cocoon exploded, splattering the entire glass. Having pressed a couple of buttons to clear the observation point, I looked inside and saw a metre tall green creature with a pronounced relief of muscles standing against the glass panel looking back at me.
-Waaagh? - The creature said in a questioning voice.
-...

Earlier in Asgard.
Asleep in his chambers, Odin opened his eyes abruptly and jumped out of bed, waking his wife.
-Darling, what's wrong? - Frigga asked excitedly.
-I need to check something, go back to sleep. - Odin replied, throwing on the illusion of his robes and hurrying into the hall.
-Heimdal come to the throne room quickly. I need to know what happened to Jane Foster and how I came to be a grandfather! - The Allfather seemed to speak into the void, but he knew the faithful guardian of Beavercrest would hear him.
