I decided that I needed to relax, and the almost ineffective liquor wasn't going to help, so I remembered the strange drink that vampires used on their victims. It was pretty effective, and if you mixed it with a decent amount of alcohol and added a little of my skill's abilities, something might come out.

Once outside, as it started to get darker, I decided to find a language. I remembered from the Blade films that there were several bloodsucker feeding clubs in the city and many of their kind must know their locations. Since it wasn't very convenient to search for a child of the night in a crowd, I decided to take the simpler route, namely, after spending a few seconds, I conjured true sight on my store-bought sunglasses. This simple enchantment will only last an hour, but I don't need more than that. Of course, a guy walking around in sunglasses in the evening would look weird, but if Blade could wear sunglasses, I couldn't be worse.

After only half an hour of searching, I managed to make out a muddy type turning into a rather old building, which had a distinct grave aura over it that haunted any undead and a couple of special parasites that usually lived either in hospitals or graveyards. Some of them fed on the energy of the dying, others were fuelled by the bodies that had already passed away. And this vampire, as it seemed, was actively feeding these spirits, for they were quite well-fed and aggressively drove their colleagues away from such a "good" provider of sustenance.

When I followed the bloodsucker into the building, I cast a simple illusion of low complexity that created something resembling a haze in the place of my presence. If you look closely, you will realise that this phenomenon is not normal, but if you don't concentrate and stay behind or at most on the periphery, no one usually even notices the tracking. Having removed the outward manifestations of my presence, I began the remaining ones that could warn the vampire. Concentrating, I was able to suppress my aura by pressing it as tightly against my body as possible, which removed my life-scented body from the vampire's senses. Usually most bloodsuckers tracked their prey with an aura that quietly phoned in the person's condition and species. Yet the mages who created vampires made their weapons, and weapons must perfectly find their opponents and sense their surroundings. Older vampires over a hundred can feel blood in the human body for several hundred metres around. Such vampires need special amulets that knock down their analogue scanning charms.

Though there are uniques everywhere, like the one I'm following was able to spot me even though I covered all the traces that a vampire of his age could sense, and with true sight it was easy enough to tell from his aura that he was between five and eight decades old, and he certainly shouldn't be able to sense blood at a great distance. This meant that he had drunk at least more than a couple thousand living humans, since his powers were several decades beyond the current age of existence as a vampire.

Deciding that he was much smarter than me, he prepared for the encounter by climbing up to the ceiling and hovering at the entrance, seemingly someone who decided not to have a conversation and go straight for the stalker's neck. If he were a couple of centuries older, I would have thought he had the ability to read blood memory, but so it's just the actions of a rather violent monster who considers himself a top predator. It's funny, I think it's time for a pretty canonical vampire/werewolf clash, because the last time I did it didn't really work out, and the vampires weren't quite right. What normal vampire would turn into a wolf? I don't know either. That's why it was probably the shame of vampire society, and here was the true representative of it.

Entering the room, I was immediately attacked by a vampire swooping down from above. The vampire, who wasn't expecting much resistance, didn't even have time to be surprised when my arm changed and his carcass was pressed into the floor. My palm broke his larynx along with the floor, so the bloodsucker couldn't come to his senses immediately, but it took me a couple of seconds to pull out a long-prepared set of needles hardened by my flames. I'd learnt the basics of acupuncture in Kamartaj, but now I was more interested in a steady hand than a knowledge of the points in the human body. A few moments later, the vampire had a dozen needles in his limbs, which were poisoning his blood and giving him a very "pleasant" sensation. I broke his arms and legs where the needles were, to make sure he wouldn't make too much noise after the cure, so they wouldn't let him recover and it would give the bloodsucker a couple of extra points to be agreeable.

Having restored his larynx, the vampire showered me with threats and swearing, but the extra couple of dozen needles immediately brought the interrogator to his senses, and after a few minutes I was able to get several addresses of clubs that suited me.Leaning my palm against the undead and about to burn the vampire I suddenly felt a strange desire rising from within and instead of fire my hand was covered with a black aura, from which the vampire began to dry up quickly and after five seconds in front of me was a corpse resembling some pharaoh, and the system notified me about raising the level of power of my demonic blood.

Demon Blood Power 6 Level

To be honest, I had no idea how to raise the level of my demonic blood, and all the benefits of my new race depended on it. But it seems that today I found a reason to be happy, and vampires in this city are very, very sad.

When I got to the club and blasted it with spells, I found about three dozen auras inside. I climbed up to the first floor through the back door, where the manager of the place was located. That bloodsucker was his nestling, so they often had a couple of girls in his office who came to the club on the wrong date, which turned out to be the bloodsuckers' lunch hour. Bursting inside, I immediately unleashed a wave of flame in the bloodsucker's direction, not strong enough to kill and tear the room apart, but capable of severely burning and disorienting the undead. My attack came just in time, for the speed with which the son of the night had leapt from the table was equal to mine, if not superior. My attack disorientated him, and his foolish attempt to break through the fire to attack me scorched his face and the skin on his arms, causing extremely painful injuries that, because of the nature of the attack, did not want to heal quickly. While the enemy was weakened, I was able to get close to him quickly enough and with my hands already turned I dealt the vampire a series of blows, the first of which he blocked, but when the fire cover was added to them it became too unprofitable for him to defend himself, so he went on the offensive.

To be honest, I even admired the abilities of this ancient monster, because so good at fighting blindly is not given to many, and he clearly has considerable experience in such battles. But what he could not foresee was a sharp increase in the strength of the attacker. When I realised that the bloodsucker's henchmen would soon come running to the office, I immediately assumed the full form of a Lycan and pumped my hands with demonic manna. So far, my strength is only enough for a short reinforcement, but a sharp increase of several hundred points of strength and speed was enough for the vampire to not have time to dodge and my claws of my left hand pierced his stomach, and my right hand disconnected his arm from his torso.

The vampire, who had received near fatal wounds, settled to the ground and was immediately pierced by a series of needles, which completely immobilised the supernatural creature and deprived it of its last hope of escape or survival. The vampire would now need to drain at least five or six people to stabilise and slowly recover from being at the level of a firstling. For full recovery, he would need at least a hundred, maybe two litres of blood.

Ten seconds after the main bloodsucker had been immobilised, five vampires burst into the office, but these were much weaker than their leader, so before they could do anything, they were roasted in the flames to colour when their lives became very important and received their portion of needles. Before everyone in the club fully realised about my intrusion and swarmed down here, still the office where people are constantly being killed has pretty decent soundproofing, I decided to go down first and pay a courtesy visit early. Just had to make sure the head of those suckers didn't skate off while I was having a heart-to-heart with the staff. Going to the nightstand in the corner I opened the burnt flaps and found many bottles of wine inside, but I wasn't fooled when I opened the first one and found blood inside. I poured two bottles of wine over its wounds and open mouth, prolonging its suffering for another hour.

As I left the office and walked down the corridor, I bumped into a young vampire who had come to find out what had happened, but the guy didn't even realise I'd attacked him, it ended with a broken neck and while the creature was regenerating, a series of needles immobilised its body, and an additional leg break in its rib cage created another big task for its regeneration today. Next, out onto the balcony and a portion of needles into the bartender. The bartender, of course, was surprised, but his speed allowed him to safely dodge objects thrown from a great distance, so when he already started to turn I had to correct the direction of the needles with telekinesis. At the sound of a broken bottle falling out of the bartender's hands and his body falling, the entire staff of the club gathered. They didn't bother to look into the matter, so they came rushing to me. I twisted the first one's right arm and put his body under the claws of his colleague, thus shielding myself from two more. While the second one froze and was surprised at his wound, I broke the legs of the first one with a quick kick and before the other one could get his claws out, I yanked the vampire's arm towards me, punching through his chest, leaving a hole near his heart. The next one attacked from the back, but that didn't save him, and tilting the body forward ninety degrees I let the enemy forward, grabbing the body by the legs and pressing the bloodsucker's face into the floor. I didn't even notice the attack on the right side of the body, just changed my body position a little, then took a couple of steps forward and stepped on the vampire's head. The attack of the new enemy made me tense up, and I involuntarily increased the pressure of my foot, which caused the skull of the lying undead to explode and finished off the waiter. What can I say, oops. To prevent this from happening again I decided to get serious and started using magic. A couple of vampires were immediately bound, and others got some blades compressed from space into their livers. Everything went into action, magical bindings, barriers that suddenly appeared, limbs torn off from other attackers, weak illusions of me moving a couple of steps in the opposite direction, flame waves a couple of metres in diameter, knives taken from the vampires, and even a pistol fired at the head of a bloodsucker who had attacked me. A minute later, I was standing in the middle of a mountain of moaning bodies, half of which would be in the morgue if they were human. Each of them was quickly gifted with a set of hardened metal inside his body, having finished gifting the vampires I went to the bartender, who, though he didn't see our fight from behind the bar, but his hearing allowed him to estimate the not so rosy picture of what was going on.

-Tell me, my dear supplier of dope to the bodies of your victims, what do you put in the booze to relax the future drink? - Pierce asked, pulling the bartender by the scruff of the neck from behind the bar and taking the needle from his throat.

-I don't know what you're talking about..." The vampire tried to shrug it off, but seeing the pile of bodies, he swallowed and imbued his attacker with a forgiving smile.

-In those bottles there is a special composition usually I do not add more than ten fifteen drops per glass. Twenty drops for the toughest ones. - The vampire replied, pointing to three two-litre bottles with a glance.

-Good, because I've had a busy day and I just really wanted to relax. - Said Pierce, walking over to the bottles and, under the vampire's very surprised look, sniffing them and making sure they were filled with the right product, stuffed them into a small bag.

-Are there any more? - Asked Pierce, who turned to the bartender, satisfied. The vampire learnt that Raine had arranged all this just because he wanted to get a rare drug and decided that it was better not to get involved with such a psycho and started blaming everything on his boss.

After listening to the vampire's speech, which boiled down to just four phrases, "I don't know, don't understand, just do it, Dobby's a good bartender," I agreed and said I understood the message, and here was the joy of it, his boss was just there, lying upstairs waiting for me. So I'm going to go and find out what I need from this unquestionably bad man... vampire, and if that doesn't work, I'll go back to Dobby. Honest and most importantly kind Dobby immediately decided to add something else, but I did not bother such a surprisingly decent employee and put the needle back in place.

The almost corpse... well, yes, a very disgruntled vampire greeted me with an unkind look and a sluggish attempt to move, but the injuries had taken their toll, and he continued to lie facing the ceiling. When I approached the vampire, I decided to extract information, but instead of the slow method with questions and torture, I decided to skip the first part and go straight to torture, because judging by his look we wouldn't be friends, though it's not a big loss, because who would want to be friends with a corpse, who has only a couple of hours to go to the next world.

Crouching over his body I touched the needles and let the hellfire run through them, making them slowly heat up, this made the corpse move and I would have started screaming "It's alive, IT'S ALIVE!" but instead I just put my finger to the special compartment in the needles and let the flame run through it. In a couple of seconds, the vampire's gaze promised me hell, and after a minute he even smelled good, but that was inaccurate. To prevent the tortured from leaving prematurely, I poured a bottle of water on his wounds every ten seconds and let him recover a little. After five minutes the rage began to disappear from his gaze, after three more minutes it became begging, after five more begging, but I remembered Panther's lessons well and knew that it takes at least thirty minutes to be completely sure of the client's co-existence, of course, if it is not a civilian. So after holding him for another fifteen minutes and achieving the "I just want to die" state, I stopped the torture and pulled out the needle, letting the vampire speak.

-Shall we talk? - Pierce asked, playing with the red-hot needle in front of the vampire.

-Yes. - Answered the vampire in a hoarse voice.

-Where is the drug used to numb the victims and where are your heads? - Pierce asked, looking at the vampire and thinking about how many levels he would raise by absorbing such an old member of their species.

-Deliveries are made from a tower in Lower Manhattan, that's where the main storage facility is. I don't know where the labs are, I've never been interested. In the same tower live the elders, they represent the will of the ancient while he sleeps. The council is made up of six of his children, converted a hundred years before falling into slumber. - The five-hundred-year-old vampire answered in a completely honest, murdered voice.

-Tell me everything you know about them.

While the vampire was telling me not much useful information, I memorised names and times of meetings of the heads of such clubs for receiving new orders or reports on successes. When the vampire had told me everything he knew, he stopped talking. I put my hand on his chest and listened to myself again, I felt the same sensation, and this time I stood like that for a hundred seconds. When it was over, a new message about raising the level of demonic blood power popped up in front of me.

Demon Blood Power 12 level

Six levels for one strong but not particularly dangerous to my current opponent is very cool. Turning to the vampires who had turned pale, although it seemed like there was a lot more to it than that, I went to collect the levels.

Power of Demon Blood 13 level

To my surprise, for all the vampires in the club, I only got one level. I guess there's no way to level up on weaklings. Well, I guess I'll have to pay a visit to the ancient's children. Since Daddy's asleep, I've got enough power to take on the vampires who aren't too different in strength from the head of the place.
