Heera's discomfort was impossible to miss as she stepped inside the building.
Her nose wrinkled slightly, her eyes scanning the surroundings like she was inspecting something beneath her.
Selene noticed the subtle frown tugging at the corner of her lips, but she held her tongue. For now.
"Follow me."
Selene said, her tone clipped.
She led Heera down the hallway, her footsteps echoing softly against the tiled floor. Ethan trailed a few steps behind them, quiet but watchful as always.
Selene stopped in front of one of the rooms and pushed the door open.
"Here."
She said, stepping aside to let Heera enter.
The room was one of the best ones in the center.
Clean, neatly arranged, and spacious enough for comfort. The bed had fresh linens, the furniture was functional, and there was even a small desk in the corner.
By all accounts, it was more than adequate.
But the moment Heera stepped inside, her expression twisted.
