Chapter 128 - Chapter 127: Silverwood Wand

Yang Tao muttered to himself, "I can finally start playing Thaumcraft properly!"

Everything he had done before was just preparation. Thaumcraft was one of the most content-rich magic mods, and he was only scratching the surface.

With the Infusion Altar built, it was time to upgrade his wand. The Greatwood Wand's 50 Vis capacity was too low, and constantly running around to find nodes to recharge it was getting annoying.

"I need to craft a Silverwood Wand and bring a node back here. This is way too much trouble."

Yang Tao was getting tired of running all over the place just to recharge his wand, but that was just how the early game of Thaumcraft worked—constant exploration.

Yang Tao took out an iron ingot and crafted a standard crucible, placing it on the ground. With a tap of his wand, intricate patterns appeared on the once-smooth surface, transforming it into a Thaumcraft crucible.

Many things in Thaumcraft worked like this—books, crafting tables, and more could be transformed with a simple tap of the wand.

"This is real magic!" Yang Tao loved flashy things like this. No need for extra materials—just a tap, and it was done.

He filled the crucible with water and threw in various shards he had prepared, crafting a balanced shard—one of the key ingredients for primal mana.

Next, he needed to craft the Thaumium Wand Caps. Charging them required an infusion altar, but just thinking about it gave him a headache.

He hadn't made the necessary components yet, and infusion came with risks—it could easily cause instability. Even though crafting wand caps was relatively low-risk, that didn't mean there was no danger at all. He wasn't willing to trust his luck.

He gathered materials and started crafting. First, he made an alchemical furnace, which could break down items into their elemental aspects. He placed a distillation apparatus on top, connected some pipes, and set up jars to collect the extracted aspects.

"One step done!" Yang Tao nodded in satisfaction as he watched the alchemical furnace processing materials.

"Now, I need to lower the risk of infusion!" He couldn't understand why arranging materials neatly or symmetrically around the infusion altar reduced instability.

Did the elements have OCD or something?

To further minimize risk, Yang Tao started crafting tallow candles—lots of them.

He surrounded the infusion altar with candles. There was no way anything could go wrong now.

After preparing all the materials and aspects, he carefully arranged them.

Taking a deep breath, he activated the runic matrix with his wand to begin the infusion.

The entire runic matrix trembled slightly. The surrounding materials broke into fragments and floated toward the inert Thaumium Wand Cap at the center.

The infusion process ended quickly, and Yang Tao let out a sigh of relief.

Maybe the large number of candles made a difference—nothing went wrong. No materials were lost, and there were no flux bursts!

"I knew it! Thaumcraft follows scientific principles! Look at my luck—not bad at all, first try!" Yang Tao grinned as he held the completed Thaumium Wand Cap.

Soon, he successfully crafted three wand caps without any issues.

Finally, he assembled the Silverwood Wand. Holding it in his hands, he felt unstoppable. He was ready to create a node-in-a-jar, so he wouldn't have to keep running around looking for aura nodes to recharge his wand.
