Chapter 100 - Chapter 99: Twilight Forest

Stepping through the portal, Yang Tao arrived in the Twilight Forest. Surrounded by massive trees, he felt incredibly small.

The sound of cicadas filled the air, bringing a sense of life to the forest.

Countless stars shone down on the land, making the eternal night of the Twilight Forest feel not so dark.

At that moment, Yang Tao was staring at a cicada perched on a tree, making noise. It was about 30 centimeters long, and the sight of it sent a chill down his spine. Even though it wasn't flying around wildly and just sat there like a living torch, it still looked terrifying.

"A cicada this big in real life would be horrifying!" Yang Tao quickly marked the coordinates and left the area.

The Twilight Forest was full of animals—wild boars, deer, squirrels, and more.

Yang Tao didn't fly but chose to walk through the forest instead. He really liked the scenery here.

Before long, a hill appeared in his view. As someone experienced in exploring the Twilight Forest, Yang Tao immediately recognized it—it was a hollow hill, filled with ores and treasure chests.

Staring at the "grave mound" ahead, Yang Tao muttered, "Nah, I'm not going in. I don't need those ores that badly."

In Twilight Forest, there's a trick—once you find a special building, you just need to walk in a straight line in any of the four directions, and you'll find more buildings.

Moving forward, Yang Tao soon spotted a towering structure reaching into the clouds.

"A Lich Tower?" He quickly ran over, took out his tools, and got ready to go inside. But as soon as he started digging, the entire castle lit up with glowing green magic runes, completely preventing him from breaking any blocks.

Yang Tao frowned. "So I have to defeat all the bosses one by one? What a hassle!"

In Twilight Forest, the bosses must be defeated in a specific order—you can't take on the later ones unless you beat the earlier ones first. Otherwise, you can't even enter certain areas.

Yang Tao was only here to check things out this time. He wasn't planning to clear the Twilight Forest just yet.

"I'll head back for now."

Using the minimap, he teleported straight to the Twilight Forest entrance and jumped back through.

With his Charmander by his side, Yang Tao decided to focus on leveling up first. He wanted it to evolve into Charizard before doing anything else—after all, a shiny Charizard looked incredibly cool.

Wandering around the grasslands, he let Charmander bully low-level Pokémon, and before long, it evolved into Charmeleon.

"Leveling up is pretty fast!"

As he continued training, Yang Tao opened the chat group.

"Ash, are you there? I need to talk to you!"

Ash saw Yang Tao's message and was a bit confused. Was he going to ask for battle advice again?

"Group leader, what's up? If it's about battles, I'm really not good at them!"

"It's nothing big. I want to visit your world to find something. By the way, do you know about the Dynamax Band?"

Hearing that it wasn't about teaching battles, Ash let out a sigh of relief.

"Dynamax Band? Never heard of it, but I think I saw something about Dynamax Pokémon in the Galar region on the news. Wait, do you want one of those bands?"

"Yeah, that's right. Looks like I'll be making a trip to your world. I'll head over after evolving Charmeleon into Charizard and see if I can get one."

"Then can I come with you when you go looking for it? I'm really curious about what Dynamax Pokémon look like!"

At this point, Ash was still a rookie and hadn't seen much of the world yet.

"Of course! We'll look for it together!"

After setting up the plan with Ash, Yang Tao continued training his Charmander.
