Chapter 9 - Failure

"Who are you!?" Jiro asked, quivering in fear.

"HAHAHAHA, Eikyuu... and honestly, I'm

getting a little IMPAAAATIENT!" he said.

"There are supposed to be three of you... Where is the other guy? Kasoko... KASOKU!?"

he yelled, beating his own head.

"Man, this guy is a psycho!" Shingo thought.

"IT WAS JUST US TWO!" Jiro yelled.

"Shingo is a mess right now… What am I gonna do!?" Jiro thought.

"HAHAHA!" Eikyuu laughed as he walked up to Jiro

"Shit..." Jiro thought.

Eikyuu kicked him down.

"Hinto, let's go," Hiro said, but—

"Hinto...?" Hiro looked beside him and noticed Hinto was missing.

Eikyuu stood there, laughing like a maniac.

Both Jiro and Shingo were down on the floor, groaning in pain.

"They are going to die."

"It's gonna be all your fault."

"Just...""Let loose..."

These words echoed in Hinto's mind.

"You're not gonna answer...? Okay HAHAHAHA!" Eikyuu shouted as he grabbed his bat.

"NO PLEASE, WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING!" Shingo yelled.

Jiro was shaking in fear as Eikyuu got closer, bat in hand.

"No, no, no. This can't be happening… Why can't I speak?" Jiro thought, frozen by fear.

Eikyuu prepared to swing but sensed someone coming and said, "We got company. I guess I gotta wrap this up qui—"

But before he could finish, Hinto jumped in, kicking straight for his face.

Eikyuu managed to react just in time, turning around and blocking the kick with his bat—

—but still got sent flying about three meters.

When his feet hit the ground, he slid back another two.

"What... I got sent flying?" Eikyuu thought to himself.

"YO! WHITE-HAIRED GUY!? WHAT'S YOUR NAME!?" Eikyuu shouted.

Hinto didn't respond.

"Wait... he's a kid?" Eikyuu thought.

"HAHA, what the heck? You're interesting!" he said.

Hinto ignored him, tilted his head slightly, and dashed forward.

Hinto jumped, aiming another kick—Eikyuu mirrored the move and blocked it mid-air.

"HAHAH, I'm having so much fun!" Eikyuu yelled.

Hinto stayed completely silent.

"Hmmm... I can't let this escalate into a full-on fight out here in broad daylight... Big bro would disown me. It's best if I get out of here," Eikyuu thought.

"But I'm having so much fun though..." that's how he felt fighting Hinto.

Eikyuu turned around, ran, and jumped over a fence.

"WHAT!? YOU'RE RUNNING!?" Hiro shouted.

"It's been fun, but I have to go! HAHAHAHA!" Eikyuu called out.

Hinto was about to follow, but Hiro jumped in front of him, arms spread.

"Hinto, it might be a trap. Let's figure out a plan before following that idiot."

Then, the words echoed again in Hinto's head: "ARE YOU GONNA LET HIM GO!?"

As soon as he heard them, Hinto grabbed his head, struggling with his anger, screaming.

"Hinto!? HINTO!!!" Hiro yelled.

Meanwhile, in Hinto's mind...

Hinto stood in a pitch-black room.

He heard a familiar female voice: "Hinto!?"

Trembling, he whispered, "Mom...?"

"Yes, honey. It's me," Ame said as she appeared before him.

"Why—how..." Hinto stammered as he embraced her.

"There's so much I want to talk to you about, Mom. A lot has happened to me lately. Grandpa... Dad..." he said.

"I understand... but, dear... but that's not what's important right now," Ame replied.

"What do you mean?" Hinto asked.

"Why are you letting him go so easily!?" she said sharply.

Hinto looked at her, shocked and confused.

"My father really did raise you into a pathetic weakling…"

"A failure... "

"Your father was right."

"Wha—Mom? Why are you saying this?!"

Ame smiled coldly, turned around, and walked away.

"You should've never been born." she said

"NO! MOM, DON'T SAY THAT! PLEASE COME BACK!" Hinto cried.

"HINTO!" Hiro shouted.

Hinto woke up with tears streaming down his face.

He was lying on the ground, unconscious moments earlier.

"What happened...?" Hinto asked.

"I have no idea..." Hiro said.

"You were fighting that Kokuja guy, and after that you went crazy and passed out," Jiro added.

"And then you were talking in your sleep, which... was kinda creeping us out," Shingo said, biting down on a piece of cloth to stop the bleeding.

sigh "So... he got away, huh..." Hinto muttered.

"Yeah, but it's fine. We were lucky no one got seriously hurt—or worse," Hiro said.

"I'm such a failure... just like she said..." Hinto's voice cracked as he tried not to cry.

"She!?" Hiro looked at him, confused.

Meanwhile...

"That uniform he was wearing... He must be from the same school as those idiots, since they had the same one," Eikyuu muttered.

"But there's no way a high schooler's kick has that much power." he said

"F%@#ing hell, my leg hurts..." Eikyuu said, limping.

He pulled up the leg of his pants—his leg was completely purple.

"What the hell... Who was that kid?" he said

Eikyuu limped toward a nearby alley.

A black car with tinted windows was parked there. He opened the door and got in.

"Eikyuu, you're late..." said the person in the driver's seat.

"Apologies, Big Bro. I got delayed," he said.

"Did you do what you set out to do?" Commander Amakusa asked.

"Well... my apologies, but I just sent them a message. Some people interfered, and I didn't want to bring in the authorities in broad daylight."

sigh "This is the first time you haven't disappointed me completely, Eikyuu," the Commander said.

"That's my big bro! I'll get them next time, I swear!" Eikyuu said with a grin.

"Don't disappoint me, Eikyuu... and also—don't call me Big Bro!" Amakusa snapped.

"Hahaha! Alright, Commander Bro!" Eikyuu laughed.

The commander sighed.

"That kid has no idea what kind of business he's messing with... He just wrote his own death sentence," Eikyuu said.
