After a days journey we managed to reach the village. It was already night time and the weather was starting to get colder. Everyone was in their houses with some lanterns lighting things up.
Five minutes after entering the village we came across Thors's house. It was like the other village houses, nothing out of the ordinary.
As we headed inside we met Thors wife Helga and his daughter Ylva. After Thors explained my situation to them they both gave me looks of pity.
"What a poor child. Don't worry you can stay with us, we wont treat you any less then that of Thorfinn and Ylva." Helga said.
I bowed and thanked her for her kindness, as I looked up I saw Ylva was standing right in front of me. "Is there a problem." I asked.
"No problem, as long as you help out around the house and do you're fair share like everyone else." She said.
I nodded to show I understood her words. Afterwards both Helga and Ylva helped Thors and Thorfinn unpack from their trip.
I would be sleeping on the floor in Thorfinn's room from now on because they didn't have any extra rooms in the house.
Making sure everyone was asleep, I checked my status.

Based of this information, it's safe to say that Beginner is likely given to teenagers and Novice to children. With me being Beginner it's safe to say that no child can overpower me in raw strength. I can also probably thank this passive skill for my wounds healing faster than usual.
I should probably get some sleep, I got a big day tomorrow.

I woke up from the floor and did some stretches to warm up my body, I noticed that my wounds don't hurt as much but they still have scabs over them.
After checking out my wounds I headed out of the room, and met Helga and Ylva in what I assume to be the kitchen/living room. Thors is also out apparently, he is at the old blacksmith's shop working.
"Is there anything you need me to do." I asked.
"Yes, you can go get the water, it was Thorfinns job but you can take over that job for him while he will tend to the livestock." Ylva said.
That arrangement worked out for me because I do not want to smell like a farm animal and step in shit. I nodded, grabbed a bucket and headed off in the direction Ylva pointing me in to go some water.
While walking I noticed the villagers were looking at me but not questioning me. Thors probably told them about me this morning, not that I care.
I collected some water in the bucket and headed back to the house. After handing the bucket over to Ylva, she handed me some bread and water. After eating she told me, I was free to do whatever I wanted with my time as long as I stayed out of trouble.
Hearing that made me excited. I wanted to see if I could learn swordsmanship through swinging a sword a couple times. I went ask Thorfinn if he had a spare wooden sword I could borrow. He said yes and told me I could use it as long as I returned it.
Going outside I began swinging the sword. After about 20 swings I got the notification I wanted.

I felt like I could gain more from this so I kept swinging my sword. After swinging the sword 200 times I got another notification.

After getting beginner swordsmanship I could perform a strike and slash with better technique and precision then before. As I couldn't continued swinging the sword, I got another notification.

So I can't improve past this for now. I'll just have to focus on other skills for now since I'll have to wait till the Jomsvikings show up.

2 months have passed since then. Over this time I have managed to raise all my stats up to intermediate, and my body is about the size of a 10 year old now even though I'm now 7.
Through this time I learned that Leif the traveler, Thors friend should be returning soon. Shortly after his return, the Jomsvikings will show up and force Thors to go back to the battlefield.
My plan is to do what Thorfinn did and sneak on aboard their ship so that I can leave this island. I appreciate Thors and his family looking after me but, my goal is to get stronger and create my own band of elite warriors so I don't die to a random group of people and waste this opportunity I've been given.
I also developed some new skills over this time.

I got axemanship after cutting firewood over and over. For fishing, I managed to get it up to beginner after catching a lot of fish, and intermediate after catching a large fish. I practiced archery in case I might need to kill someone running away and did some mock battles with the other kids to gain sheildmanship.
All that's left to do now is wait patiently.
