Chapter 15 - First Fight

Erie didn't need his system to tell him something was happening; he saw the energy building up in his first eyes. It was some ability that required direct combat.

"Let's go! ill wipe that smirk off your face!" Baldy yelled

"So loud for such little energy. Must be the steroids?" erie replied.

"You piece of shit! I hate people like you!" he yelled at the same time he threw out a wild punch.

According to series stats, he was fast; he replenished his energy, which gave him some speed boost back, and he moved his head slightly to the left, dodging the hit, but the shock of the attack hit him.

"User stunned"

"2 seconds"

"Damm it!" erie screamed.

Baldy threw another punch, hitting Erie in the stomach, and a small shock wave passed through Erie.

Erie looked at the boy's hand again, and it was a tad bit brighter than before.

Baldy smiled and laughed. "The longer I go, the less you can do!" he yelled. Erie retaliated and finally struck back. He hit the boy in the head, and it sent a slight jolt. Erie noticed he stumbled slightly.

Baldy threw another punch, and Erie took a back step to dodge the hit again, but a bright light hit Erie, and a spark enveloped his body.

"Resistance to spark +1"

"Users have less chance of being stunned."

"HP 30/100"

"How did I lose HP?" Eerie felt a jolting pain run through his entire body. He could move, but the small shocks made him uncomfortable. He knew this was serious because HP had taken an enormous hit. He didn't want to know what would happen if he was hit again, but the sparks in his fist grew brighter. The boy smirked, charged in on Erie, and shot him in the arm.

"HP: 10/50"

"Ugh, I know this already, dammit!" Erie shouted, his breath ragged as the pain in his body burned hotter.

Baldy laughed, his voice dripping with mockery. "You should've learned your place, Erie!" He clapped his hands, and a small yellow shockwave rippled from his palms, wrapping around Erie like invisible chains.

Erie's body tensed as electricity coursed through him, the sharp sting crawling over his skin. But then... nothing. No pain. No paralysis. The sparks fizzled out before they could do any real damage.

Baldy's smirk faltered.

"Huh?"Erie blinked. He could still move. He could still fight.

Baldy's expression twisted in rage. "YOU ARE FINISHED!" he roared, his fist lighting up as he charged forward, swinging with everything he had left.

Erie barely dodged, the fist whizzing past his face. A shockwave blasted the ground behind him, sending dust and debris flying.

His vision blurred for a second—his body was close to its limit—but something inside him refused to stop.

Then, he felt it.

A strange surge of energy flooded through him. It wasn't a system notification, it wasn't an ability, it was raw instinct.

Erie rushed forward. BAM!

His fist smashed into Baldy's head with brutal force. The impact rattled Baldy's skull, sending him staggering. He barely had time to react before his legs buckled beneath him.

Erie didn't hesitate.

He grabbed Baldy by the arm, hoisted him into the air, and slammed him down hard—his back cracking against the cold ground.

A sharp gasp escaped Baldy's lips. His body went limp.

But Erie didn't stop.

His vision was hazy, and his hands were trembling. But something inside him screamed that it wasn't over until the system said it was.

He climbed on top of Baldy and started throwing punches— again. Again. And again.

Jake stood in place, watching.

"Quest complete."

"Reward: 50 EXP gained."

"EXP: 125/200."

Baldy's arms went limp, and he was now snoring. He took a deep breath and sighed. "I guess the system wants me to knock my appointment out?"

"That was close." Erie was a little relieved. He didn't know if he was going to lose the fight. He also didn't think he had drawn in a small crowd. The people started to murmur around him, pointing at him.

"Isn't he that boy with no ability?"

"yeah, he just knocked out someone with an ability."

Erie finally looked around and saw the crowd of people, and he stormed off. While storming off, he received a notification from his system, so he checked it while walking.

"Additional reward."

"skill unlocked: status bar."

"Able to view fight status during the fight."

Erie was excited. He felt he was still in range of the boy nearby, so he looked at him and thought about the "status bar." it took a moment, but the bar finally manifested itself.

"Name: Jason Will-chucker."

"Race: Human."

"Ability: charge."

"Hp: 1 of 100."

Erie's eyes widened. "'No way… I can see this much information?" His mind raced. What else could it do if the system could show abilities and HP?"

"those system books I have read. They must've been true."

Erie looked up, and Jake was standing in front of him. "No, Tim, Jake. We have to go, Jake!" erie said. Jake stood in place, looked back at the boy, and looked at Erie. he then turned around and followed Erie out of the middle yard.

A boy with a large scar across his face watched the fight from afar.

Golden ribbons wrapped around his arm—four of them. He didn't speak, but his eyes lingered on Jake before shifting to Erie.

"This class is the weakest in history, but it's not often that a lower-level fighter beats someone with an ability."

Jake's eyes met his.

For a moment, the scarred boy hesitated. Something about Jake felt unnatural. His stare wasn't just focused—it was like he was seeing through him.

"That green-eyed kid is creepy," he thought. "Why is he hanging around an FFF-ranked weakling when he's a C-rank? What's his deal?"

Behind him, another student stepped forward. "What do you want us to do?"

The scarred boy turned away. "We'll just keep an eye on him for now. We need one more for our group, but we don't need someone that weak."

But as he walked off, he couldn't shake the thought.

"Still… that kind of mentality might be exactly what we need."
