Chapter 256 - Chapter 256: Gyarados

"Blasttoise!."

A few dozen minutes later, Blastoise surfaced and shook his head at Gary, indicating that he had not found Gyarados.

"Go to the center of the lake and have a look," said Gary.

Lake of Rage is very big, and this is only a part of it. It will take a long time to explore the whole lake.

Although he did not find Gyarados, Blastoise still found more Magikarp.

It is said that the potential of Magikarp in Lake of Rage is very good.

After all, the potential of Magikarp in the place where the carp can leap over the mountain is not bad.

When Blastoise swam to the area in the middle of the lake, the lake surface suddenly became agitated, and red figures jumped out of the water.

These red figures are Magikarp from Lake of Rage, along with water Pokémon such as Goldeen.

"What's wrong?"

Gary stared at the lake surface, thinking that the red Gyarados was about to appear.

However, after waiting for more than ten seconds, let alone the red Gyarados, he did not see even a shadow of it.

Instead, there was a commotion in the bushes behind Gary. Weedle, Caterpie, and Spinarak landed from the trees, looking sick.

"Gengar, are you feeling unwell?" Gary asked.

"Genggar?"

Gengar poked his head out from Gary's shadow. He didn't feel anything.

"It seems that the evolution wave has no effect on Pokémon that have evolved to their final form," Gary thought to himself.

Gary observed the Pokémon in the forest behind him and found that all of them had not evolved to their final form.

It can be determined that the evolution wave is only effective for Pokémon that have not completed their final evolution.

"Blasttoise!!" Suddenly, Blastoise in the middle of the lake shouted.

Gary immediately looked towards the middle of the lake and saw a golden Magikarp jumping out of the water, five or six meters high, emitting golden light all over its body.

Its body grew rapidly and soon reached a length of nearly 10 meters.

The light dissipated, and a Shiny Gyarados appeared.

"Huh? It was originally Shiny!" Gary was a little confused when he saw the golden Magikarp suddenly jump out of the water.

Professor Sebastian in the plot said that the Magikarp was not Shiny, but because of the evolution wave, the Magikarp retained its original color after evolution.

But the red Gyarados in front of him was obviously evolved from a Shiny Magikarp.

It should be that Professor Sebastian made a wrong judgment.

After all, Lake of Rage is so big Professor Sebastian certainly can't monitor every Pokémon in the lake in real time.

Professor Sebastian can only monitor the situation on the lake surface at most.

In addition, after Magikarp evolves, the size before and after is very different.

He didn't observe that Magikarp itself was Shiny and mistakenly thought that something went wrong during the evolution process, which made Gyarados retain Magikarp's original skin color.

[LV55 Gyarados/Champion]

"Why is the level so high?!" Gary asked in surprise.

If Magikarp doesn't evolve, the level limit is only between 1 and 25 levels.

Even in the game, the Shiny Gyarados in Lake of Rage is only level 30, and the Gyarados in front of him is actually level 55, which is too abnormal.

The appearance of Gyarados instantly scared the Pokémon that floated out of the lake, causing them to flee in all directions.

After all, the size of this Gyarados is too big, and the Pokémon in Lake of Rage are just babies in front of it.

"Roar!!"

After evolving into Gyarados, it was very enraged.

Seeing the Pokémon running away, it ignored them.

When it saw a Blastoise floating on the water, it immediately unleashed Hydro Pump.

"Blasttoise!!"

Seeing this, Blastoise also fired a Hydro Pump from the cannon on its shell.

The powerful Hydro Pump dispersed Gyarados' Hydro Pump and hit Gyarados.

The huge impact washed it to the shore, right in front of Gary.

"It's so big, completely beyond the size of a normal Gyarados."

Looking closely, Gary found that the physique of this Shiny Gyarados was far beyond that of a normal Gyarados.

"Roar!!"

Gyarados roared, condensing an Hyper beam in its mouth, and an Hyper beam shot at Blastoise.

Blastoise dived into the water, avoiding the Hyper beam, and then rushed out of the water, covered with a layer of water, and slammed into Gyarados' head, knocking it to the ground.

Gyarados was a little overwhelmed after being attacked twice in a row, and its rage also decreased. It looked at the lake and planned to escape.

"Blastoise, Mega Kick!" Gary ordered.

Blastoise jumped up and fell towards the position where Gyarados was.

With the acceleration of gravity, it kicked Gyarados on the head with a heavy blow.

Gyarados' eyes suddenly turned white, and its body fell backward, losing consciousness.

"Go, Poké Ball!" Gary threw the Poké Ball.

Bang!

The Poké Ball hit Gyarados and pulled it inside.

When the Poké Ball stopped moving, the system prompt sounded suddenly.

[Ding! Mission completed rewards have been issued to the space backpack.]

The capture mission issued by the system has finally been completed. There are many good things in this wave of rewards.

Then, Gengar used Psychic to move the Poké Ball to Gary.

Gary assisted with the Poké Ball, checking the attributes of this Shiny Gyarados.

[Pokémon: Gyarados (Shiny)]

[Attribute: Water, Flying]

[Level: 55]

[Potential: Champion]

[Ability: Intimidate (When in use, intimidate rivals, reducing their physical attack by 1 level.)]

[Skills: Splash, Tackle, Leer, Whirlpool, Ice Fang, Bite, Waterfall, Crunch, Autumn Rain, Aqua Tail, Dragon Dance, Hydro Pump, Hurricane, Thrash, Hyper Beam]

[Intimacy: 75 (maximum value 255)]

[Carried item: Everstone]

"Everstone...!"

This Gyarados has an Everstone in its carrying space. No wonder it didn't evolve at level 55. But with Everstone, why can it evolve?

"Could it be that the reason why this Gyarados evolved is because of the Everstone?" Gary asked in confusion.

Everstone is used to suppress Pokémon evolution, while evolution waves are used to promote Pokémon evolution.

The two are in conflict with each other, which leads to the evolution of Magikarp.

In this case, Professor Sebastian's evolution waves can't make Pokémon evolve at all, but they can make Pokémon that have not evolved to the final form become listless or even feverish.

After all this time, it turns out that the evolution waves developed by Professor Sebastian are useless, and Gary is still a little interested in evolution waves.

Because in the sixth generation movie version (Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel), a man named Alva used mysterious science to develop a device that forced Pokémon to Mega Evolve.

This device emits a kind of wave called mega wave, and Pokémon interfered by mega waves will be forced to Mega Evolve.
