Ikkyu and Aoi were heartbroken when they heard that even Tsunade could not deal with this particular poison.
Ikkyu asked, "There must be some other way."
Tsunade replied, "I am sorry, but I cannot. Skin is the most difficult part to get rid of poison. There is not enough blood flow, and this poison does not break down on its own. There are other poisons that can help but are too dangerous themselves. You wouldn't want them to be used on your sister."
Aoi started crying and hugged her brother.
Ikkyu consoled her and said, "It's ok, Aoi. No need to lose hope just yet. There is still Lady Chiyo in the sand village. We will go there."
Ikkyu looked at Tsunade and said, "I am sorry for your trouble. Due to her skin condition, she had lost all her friends. She can't play outside, go shopping, or meet new people without. I was desperately searching for help."
Ryu interjected, "May I have a look at her, please?"
Ikkyu was surprised to hear that. He had understood that the boy in front of him was a genius inventor and a future medical ninja. But could he succeed where a legendary medical ninja like Tsunade had failed?
Ikkyu looked at his sister and replied, "Ok."
Aoi also proceeded to give him his hand in hopes he might have a different opinion.
Ryu carefully examined her hand and then said, "Please excuse me; I need to look at your face. He then carefully and respectfully looked at her face and eyes."
The colour is darkest in the area where blood flow is highest. Her eyelids and ears have a faint colour compared to other regions for some reason.
Ryu asked, "What kind of poison was it? You must have researched it to help her out."
Ikkyu replied, "Yes, I had extensive research done on this poison. Like I said before, it is a plant-based poison that has been processed further to make it more lethal."
Ryu said, "Tell me if this plant is also used to make dye. Blue dye, to be specific."
Ikkyu asked, "Yes, how do you know?"
Ryu smiled and said, "Lord Ikkyu, do you know how tattoos work?"
Ikkyu moved his head in the negative.
Ryu continued, "A colour pigment is inserted into the skin where it is locked. And this pigment could not be broken down by the body and remains there. "
Ikkyu asked, "So this poison is behaving the same."
Ry nodded.
Ikkyu asked, "So I was looking at it like a poison problem, but all I needed to look for was a good tattoo removal."
Tsunade, Shizune, and Yuki were all surprised. Even they did not think of it like this. But they knew that this method would also not work.
Ryu replied, "Simple tattoo removal might have worked if it was only at a single spot. But her whole body is covered by this poisoned tattoo. So ever the most, except tattoo removers would have refused you."
Ryu thought, 'With the current standing of technology in this world, tattoo removal must be performed either chemically or through a plastic surgeon. There is no laser tattoo remover for her in this world.'
Ikkyu enquired, "What can I do? Do you have any ideas to assist her? I would be deeply grateful for your help."
Ryu replied, "You are lucky. I was already working on something that could be repurposed into a tool that could be used to remove tattoos effortlessly with minimum pain. It's not complete yet. It's not difficult to finish, but I need a few hours or so."
Ryu thought, 'I was working on lasers to make cutting tools and communication media. I need to adjust it to work for the tattoo removal in this situation.'
"Please have a seat; my secretary will show you the workshop while I work on what we need. You can also rest up at my home. It is just a block away."
Ikkyu replied, "I am really grateful that you are trying. We will wait here. I am also interested in what you do here."
Ryu then started to work on the laser tattoo removal machine; he had already set up the solar roof of his workshop. And had also set up a few prototypes for batteries. So powering it was solved.
The laser machine just needs to have a power control setup for it to act as tattoo removal. He had finished with the machine in a few hours.
All this while everyone else, including the future Daimyo, Tsunade, Shuzine, and Yuki, was all given a quick intro of all the technology Ryu had been working on.
Ryu called for her secretary, and everyone was gathered again.
Ikkyu said, "I'm impressed by the tour your secretary provided. Could you please explain the function of this machine you have designed to help us?"
Ryu said, "Oh, this is a laser; I developed this as a cutting tool and communication medium. It is basically a very powerful light beam."
Ikkyu said, "As a cutting tool? You're not suggesting cutting all this skin, are you?"
The sentence scared Lady Aoi.
Ryu laughed and said, "No, it can cut flesh, but not in this case. I have controlled its power output for the desired effect we need for our use case."
"In theory, this laser can be used for tasks like breaking kidney stones, cutting tissue, and cauterising wounds. It is highly precise and can quickly seal and connect severed blood vessels without requiring stitches."
Yuki, Tsunade, and Shuzine were surprised to hear that. They had never seen such advanced technology before and were impressed by the potential applications in the medical field. Lady Aoi felt a sense of relief knowing that the laser would be used for healing purposes rather than causing harm.
Ikkyu asked, "How can it help with her case?"
Ryu replied, "Tattoos are just big blocks of ink a bit deep in the skin. Blocks big enough to lock in the skin and strong enough that the body's defence mechanism and metabolism of the cells can't break it down."
"The device uses controlled heat to target and break down the ink block within the skin using heating affect of focussed light beam, facilitating the body's natural elimination process."
Aoi asked, "Wouldn't it leave burn marks?"
Ryu replied, "Laser does not work like fire. It would hurt a little, but only the layer up to the one we need to remove poison from will be affected. And it would not be burnt in the real sense but heated up to a certain temperature. And it won't leave any permanent marks. just slight white burn marks due to heat. We can first try it on her hand."
Aoi was scared, but Ryu assured her, "Lady Aoi, it will be a little hot, but not that painful. You need to endure it to get better."
Ryu said, "If you'd like, I can demonstrate how it works on myself."
Aoi nodded.
Ikkyu said, "I will do it."
Aoi said, "Brother, you don't need to."
Ikkyu replied, "Aoi, you have endured enough pain for me. This will be nothing."
Ryu said, "Please have a seat."
He then took Ikkyu's hand and performed the demonstration on him using the laser machine.
Ikkyu replied after getting burnt, "It didn't hurt much, just a little burning sensation on the skin and only for a fraction of a second."
Ryu replied, "The procedure is safe; the minor burn will heal naturally. Just ensure her eyes are protected. It's important to note that this technology is not suitable for use on the eyes at this time."
Next was Aoi. She showed less hesitation than before and relaxed during the procedure, bravely enduring the discomfort for the sake of improvement.
"The laser only causes a slight burning sensation," she explained, referring to the sensation.
Ryu performed the laser tattoo remover on her hand, burning away a patch of her skin, and the skin tone immediately lightened.
Both Ikkyu and Aoi were very happy to see a patch of treated skin.
"The pigment immediately lost its colour, indicating a positive response. Your body will naturally eliminate the remaining ink. Remember to drink plenty of water to facilitate its removal." Ryu advised Aoi, who nodded in agreement.
"Are you ready to proceed with the full body procedure?" Ryu enquired, seeking confirmation.
Aoi nodded happily.
"Please remove your clothes; we need to do this on your entire body." Ryu said.
Aoi nodded again but then realised what Ryu had said and turned a little red.
Tsunade smacked Ryu's head and said, "I have seen how this machine works. I will do it. You lot get out."
She grabbed him and threw him outside of his own workshop like a stray puppy.
Dan and Ikkyu also came out willingly, not wanting to be thrown out like Ryu. Leaving behind Tsunade, Yuki, and Shuzine for her treatment.
"While they treat Lady Aoi, let's wait at home," Dan suggested, setting the plan for the group.
"Let's go. I'm also hungry," Ryu replied, feeling a bit famished.
"Yes. And we have much to talk about." Ikkyu Madoka
