Lucia's eyes widened as the sound echoed through the empty parlour of her house. A gust of cold air swept past her, sending a shiver down her spine. She began to pant, her breath quickening as the unsettling ambiance wrapped around her like a thick fog.
With trembling fingers, she reached out to flick the light switch, but it betrayed her, the lights were off, or perhaps disconnected.
Not a single glimmer illuminated the dark, and she felt a creeping unease settle in her chest.
"What the heck is going on?" she whispered to herself, her voice barely piercing the stifling silence.
Soon, red and white lights flickered on and off continuously as the windows suddenly opened, snapping at themselves, and heavy wind blew inside. A loud, grumbling thunderbolt struck, sending a shiver down her spine that even her intestines crumbled.
She stood up from the crouch that she had sat in to relax herself. "I just came from outside, and there weren't any signs of rain?"
"Haha... Hahaha…!"
