Ryder wondered how Reana was doing. He knew she was barely containing her emotions right now, which also meant that she wouldn't have an appetite for food, nor would she be able to sleep. So, how could he bring himself to eat, sleep, or sit?
His woman was suffering because of him, and it was only right that he shouldered the burden of that suffering alongside her. Ryder's jaw clenched. It was all the goddess's fault.
"Ryder, are you listening?" Marcus's voice cut through his thoughts.
Ryder's gaze snapped back to Marcus, his eyes narrowing slightly as he focused on his concerned expression. "What is it?"
Marcus's eyes searched Ryder's face, as if trying to read his thoughts, seeing he was alright, he bobbed his head gently and continued. "I was asking if you know of a way to save someone whose neck was injured. Two veins in their neck were severed. The healer said they could lose their vocal cord… if at all they survived."
