"What's going on?" Zeta Tara asked, sensing the tension in the air.
Beta Thane broke his stare with Elder Thomas, sighing with a grim expression. "Delta Xavier was locked up for a crime he commited days ago, and now, he's escaped," his brows furrowed. How did he do that? Had those prison guards betrayed the pack once more?
"He didn't escape," Suddenly, a voice drifted from the entrance.
The room fell silent as all eyes turned to Zeta Marcus, who stepped forward languidly, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Xavier was kidnapped," he said, his voice dripping with amusement. "By the rogues."
Beta Thane's face darkened, his eyes flashing with anger. "The rogues?" he growled, his voice low and menacing. "You're telling me that the rogues, who have been a thorn in our side for years, just waltzed in here and kidnapped a pack member?"
"And you did nothing?" Elder Thomas spat, his voice venomous with rage. "You stood by and watched as my son was taken from under our noses?"
