The situation spiraled out of control for a while.
But in the end, it was resolved. The misunderstanding was cleared up, and nothing happened that Ross would have liked to see.
However, the warehouse was destroyed.
When Luke woke up this morning, he never imagined the troublemaking kids would practically tear the place down.
The current state of the warehouse could only be described as a disaster.
The roof was gone, leaving it completely exposed to the elements. On the ground, all kinds of equipment lay shattered and scattered everywhere. Tables, chairs, and benches were reduced to rubble, piled up in chaotic formations.
The whole place looked like it had been hit by a category-four typhoon.
Most of the destruction was caused by Crystal's magic.
Luke wasn't just surprised—he was straight-up shocked.
In just a few dozen seconds, Crystal had unleashed four different types of magic: fire, ice, air, and earth.
It all happened so fast that Luke barely had time to react, let alone control the situation. And now, the warehouse was in ruins.
Fortunately, the misunderstanding was settled. Agent May wasn't the type to lose sight of the bigger picture. She was the first to lower her gun, allowing Luke to quickly explain the situation.
Once she realized it was all just a misunderstanding, Crystal looked embarrassed.
Her cheeks flushed red as she apologized and offered compensation.
"Compensation?" Luke was momentarily startled before turning to the snowman, Christina, with an annoyed expression. "What the hell do you want? Huh? What do you want?"
"Master, I was wrong…" Christina responded, tears streaming down her face.
Crystal panicked. "I can't compensate you with a disease! But… but…"
She looked so flustered and conflicted that it was almost cute. Clearly, she was scrambling to figure out how to make it up to Luke.
Luke waved a hand dismissively. "Don't worry about it, Crystal. Sure, the warehouse is wrecked, and my losses are… well, let's just say they're enough to make me want to die. Ugh. But I believe you didn't mean it. If we really can't work something out, then just let it go…"
"How could that be possible?" Crystal's expression turned serious, her voice firm. "Inhumans never run from their mistakes. This was my fault. I'll compensate you. I'll make sure you're satisfied!"
Luke smirked. That was exactly what he was waiting to hear. He scratched his head with a sheepish grin. "That's… kinda embarrassing."
"Don't worry. I have the final say in this matter. I'll take care of it," Crystal declared confidently.
Her princess-like authority wasn't just for show—her status in Attilan was incredibly high. And judging by the power she had just displayed, the Inhumans' strength was no joke.
"I'll go back and deal with this first. Just wait for me," Crystal said decisively.
Before Luke could even respond, she grabbed Christina and teleported away in front of everyone.
What a fiery-tempered girl. Luke chuckled to himself.
How could he refuse compensation when it was delivered right to his doorstep? Looked like it was time to squeeze some benefits out of the Inhumans.
With that thought, Luke pointed at the half-destroyed warehouse and said to Christina, "Assistant, smash it! The more broken, the better!"
"Yes, Master!" Christina shouted.
The War Lord materialized and threw a powerful punch, instantly toppling another section of the warehouse. A cloud of dust rose into the air…
Spider-Man stood off to the side, mouth hanging open in admiration.
"That's awesome. But… where are we supposed to stay now?"
"Nothing we can do. We'll have to lay low for a few days. You can crash at my place. I'll talk to someone about rebuilding," Luke said.
Agent May left without saying a word.
It seemed like today had shaken her more than she cared to admit.
Nick Fury definitely hadn't expected Agent May to come knocking on his office door, requesting a transfer on her first day back.
"Sir, I request reassignment!"
May practically burst into Fury's office, skipping any pleasantries and getting straight to the point.
After what happened, she had developed an intense fear of mischievous children.
The mere thought of kids between the ages of seven and thirteen made her scalp tingle.
Headaches, dizziness, nausea—she experienced severe reactions just from recalling today's events.
She knew it was mostly psychological, but even so, she refused to stay in Luke's place any longer.
Why hadn't the intel mentioned any of this? What the hell had Hawkeye been doing lately? Damn it!
"Give me your reasons," Fury said, sitting behind his desk, his black trench coat draped over his chair.
After listening to May's explanation, Fury's response was simple.
"No. Get back to work."
May felt her world crumble.
She thought of Coulson.
This was all his fault!
She cursed him a hundred times over in her mind.
Coulson, go to hell! I've had enough!
Of course, the destruction of Luke's warehouse wasn't going to go unanswered. S.H.I.E.L.D. had to take responsibility.
Luke called Fury, protesting loudly and righteously about the situation.
After a short but heated argument, Fury reassured him that S.H.I.E.L.D. would cover the full cost of the warehouse reconstruction.
Fury even suggested moving Luke to a better location, but Luke refused.
He was comfortable where he was.
So, Fury took a different approach—he outright bought the land. S.H.I.E.L.D. now owned the warehouse, effectively making them Luke's new landlord.
When Luke found out, he just snorted.
Like hell he didn't see through Fury's little trick.
But he didn't care.
He wasn't planning on staying in this warehouse forever anyway. The limited space would only hold him back in the future.
Once the War Lord evolved further, this place wouldn't be enough.
In fact, he had already asked Christina to start scouting for an island off the East Coast.
Once he made enough money, he was going to buy it.
And then?
Heh… Out in the middle of nowhere, with no one watching, he could do whatever he wanted—including nuclear experiments.
With the warehouse situation handed over to Christina, Luke headed home.
"Luke, when are you going out to stir up some trouble?" Ross grumbled, clearly unsatisfied with how peaceful things had been.
If it weren't for Luke stopping today's chaos, things would have been much more exciting.
Ross didn't care if it was Luke's warehouse or not. It had only one goal—to create as much chaos as possible.
"What's the rush?" Luke shot back.
Today's mess was partially Ross's fault.
It was the one that blurted out, "This is a trap," which sent the whole situation spiraling into madness, ultimately leading to the warehouse's destruction. Now, thanks to Christina's little adventure squad, work had to be put on hold for a few days.
"The events of Iron Man 2 and Thor are already wrapped up," Luke continued. "The real turning point of the first phase of the Marvel Universe is about to begin. The Avengers storyline is coming up soon. And when that happens, you think you won't get a chance to stir up trouble?"
"Tell me about it!" Ross's excitement spiked immediately.
"Well, it all starts with the Avengers. You remember Nick Fury, right? The guy you said you liked last time? Dark-skinned, dark-hearted, and the mastermind behind this whole thing."
Luke smirked. "The official purpose of the Avengers is to protect Earth. But really, it's just Fury building himself a private army to help with his personal vendettas—like fighting Hydra.
"You want to know what Hydra is? Let me think… That story starts with an extraordinary man named Steve Rogers…"
"I know him!" Ross suddenly became serious, as if facing a formidable enemy. "You told me before—no matter who he fights, it's always a 50-50 matchup."
"50-50? I guess that's fair," Luke nodded before smirking. "But if we're talking about true 50-50 battles, I only believe in Kamijou Touma."
"Who?"
"Doesn't matter. He's not from this world."
Ross snorted. "Go on."
That night, Luke gave Ross a detailed breakdown of all the upcoming opportunities for chaos. By the time he was done, Ross was so hyped its blood was practically boiling.
