Chapter 42 - 043- Bus

"Kaori! You will be late for your classes if you keep following me!" I groaned in frustration as I walked down the sidewalk, Kaori following me.

"Are you sure that you have packed everything into the suitcase?" She asked with worry.

"Yes! I did! So go, leave me alone!" I rolled my eyes.

"Nope~! I can't risk you doing some stupid thing like not going on the trip!" She smirked.

"You know I'd never..."

She gave me a mocking look.

"Okay, okay! I would, but not this time! Just don't be so stubborn and go attend your classes instead of following me!" I said.

"Even if you are saying the truth... I also want to see Big Sister! I haven't seen her for two weeks!" She pouted.

I sighed in defeat. "God... fine..."

-20 Minutes Later, Shizuhara Academy Parking-

I looked at the bus which was slowly being occupied by my classmates.

Kaori's eyes glistened with joy as soon as she spotted Layla. "Big Sister!" She ran up to Layla, hugging her tightly.

Layla blushed in surprise as she hugged her back softly. "H-Hi Kaori..." She then smiled softly at me.

I looked around and saw Lilith sitting on her briefcase. She was wearing an oversized hoodie and a short skirt.

"I'll talk to Layla later... I need to apologize to Lilith..."

I walked over to her and kicked her foot softly. "Lilith," I said.

She looked up at me with surprise. "Shoji?"

"You know... about the Friday night..." I sat down on the ground next to her.

She looked away in shame.

"I'm sorry for trying to kill you."

"I'm sorry for trying to turn you into a toy."

We both said at the same time.

"Huh?" She looked at me with surprise.

"I was the one who started it all! You can't be sorry for trying to protect yourself!" She said in frustration.

"You're wrong, I forgot about your warning... and almost killed you because I lost control over myself..." I said with grief.

"So you aren't mad at me?" She asked with hope.

"Nope, I'm not... I'm actually thankful for what you did for me by talking to Layla, it really saved our relationship..." I smiled at her.

"How do you know that I spoke to her that day?!" She asked, her eyes wide.

"That's kinda wild, but after you used the gate device or whatever it was on me, I ended up in some slums in which a Heretic happened to be in... I was already very weakened back then and after I killed it, I passed out... but then I woke up on Layla's lap and that silly girl took me on a date while thinking that I don't know who she really is." I laughed.

Lilith also laughed. "It sounds like you had a quite wild night that day haha..."

I nudged her shoulder. "So what, Lilith? Still friends?"

"Yup~!" She smirked.

She then pointed at Kaori who was clinging all over Layla with a big smile on her face.

"Who's that little girl? Your sister?" She asked curiously.

"Yeah, you wouldn't last 15 minutes with her, believe me, ~!" I laughed.

"Mhmm~ I can tell by how much Layla is blushing~" She giggled softly.

I looked around. "Where is Carmilla? I thought she would be a bit earlier since she's always on time." I said with curiosity.

"Hmph~! I hope she's late for the bus... she's been annoying lately!" Lilith pouted.

"I mean, you can't blame her. The person who put her boyfriend into a coma is still out there lurking somewhere... if someone did something like that to someone I love, for example, Kaori..." I shook my head. "I don't know what I would do."

Suddenly someone slapped us in the back of our heads. "I'm right there, you idiots," Carmilla said coldly, rolling her eyes in annoyance. She was wearing a long brown jacket with jeans and a cyan blouse underneath.

Lilith stood up and smiled at her awkwardly. "Aaa! Hi, Carmilla-chan! How are you feeling today??" She asked.

"Cut that out, Lilith." She said.

"At least she's not calling her a witch anymore... I guess the detention really helped them get used to each other... but Ima goes before I get pulled into that."

As they were talking, manly Carmilla complaining about Lilith insulting her behind her back, I walked up to Layla and Kaori.

I grabbed the back of Kaori's middle-school uniform, pulling her away from Layla. "It's time for you to go, Kaori," I said.

"No! I'm not going!" She pouted, slapping my hand away and hugging Layla again.

Despite blushing like insane, Layla managed to smile and pat her head. "L-listen to your brother, Kaori... the Student Council might mess up the counting because of you... a-and we might get in trouble for that... you w-wouldn't want that, r-right?" She asked softly.

"B-But Big Sister... your hands are so warm~..." She then looked at me with a smug smile. "Unlike his which are colder than Siberia..."

"Kaori!" I rolled my eyes.

"...But fine... if Big Sister is telling me to... then I will do it..." She leaned away from Layla and hugged me.

"Bye-bye, Shoji!" She said and then ran away with a smile on her face.

I rolled my eyes in annoyance as I watched her run. "Annoying brat... I swear she never listens to me..." I said.

I looked at Layla. She was wearing a gray sweater and a long skirt that reached her knees.

"Hello, Layla." I smiled at her.

"Hi..." She smiled softly and grabbed my hands.

She then stood up on her toes and kissed me on the lips.

I kissed her back, shoving her hair off her eyes.

"I-I waited... the entire weekend to do this..." She said, looking down at the ground.

I smirked. "Can't deny that I'm glad!"

She giggled softly. "Are you happy? About the trip?" She then looked up into my eyes. "Y-You know..." She wrapped her arms around my neck. "We can spend soooo much time together... and I'm sooo happy about it!"

"Damn! Fuck! She's so cuteee!"

Suddenly a loud clapping noise echoed throughout the Parking.

Everyone turned their heads and looked at Mrs. Takahashi.

"Okay, it's time to go! Those who aren't on the bus yet, finish what you are doing and go in, because there is a long drive ahead of us and we don't want to be caught in a traffic jam!" Mrs. Takahashi said loudly, making sure every student heard. She was wearing a winter coat and a very long pair of pants, she also had gloves and a winter hat, looking like she was going to Siberia.

"Pft... Mrs. Takahashi seems to be scared of the wilderness." I giggled.

Layla grabbed her suitcase and as I barely managed to grab mine, she started dragging me towards the bus.

After a few minutes, everyone was on the bus.

Layla was sitting by the window next to me and Lilith was sitting next to Carmilla who was by the other window. We somehow got the four seats at the back of the bus.

Carmilla pulled my ear. "So, Shoji. Have you found out more things according to the Demoness or that group that's called 'The Luminous Order'?" She asked, her voice cold and curious at the same time.

"No," I said.

Her eyes started glowing and before she could say anything I shook my head.

"I know that you will understand me, Carmilla, you're not stupid and you know that the enemy might be anyone... that's why you cannot say anything right now..."

She then looked at Layla. "And you..." She frowned. "Layla." She said with disgust.

Layla looked at her curiously. "H-huh? Me?" She gestured at herself in confusion.

Lilith just watched with a sly smile on her face.

"Yes, you. Are you stupid or something?" Carmilla asked coldly, clearly annoyed by Layla's personality.

"U-Uhh... no... I-I don't think so..." She looked down at her hands.

Carmilla's frown intensified with annoyance and frustration. "As much as I want to deny and reject the reality... you saved us back then... I wanted to thank you..." She said and got red like a tomato.

I bursted out laughing at her.

Layla smiled. "T-Thank you! But it's okay!" She nodded to herself. "Shoji's friends... are my friends!" She said with happiness in her voice.

Carmilla scowled. "Hell nah! I will never be your friend! Never!" She roared in disgust.

Layla gasped in surprise and looked at the window in silence.

Lilith smacked Carmilla's head. "You need to control your ego, Carmilla-chan. You're hating on her just because..." Lilith then leaned her hands over my knees towards Layla.

Layla looked at her with surprise.

"Hey! Lilith don't you eve-..." But it was too late.

Lilith smirked and grabbed Layla's breast. "...Just because she has a bigger chest than you~!" She said.

"Aah~...! N-No...!" Layla moaned softly and pushed her hand away.

"Pft" Carmilla rolled her eyes and looked at the window.

"But nah, now seriously~! You are our friend, Layla. I myself didn't like you in the beginning, but you seem like a good girl." She said kindly.

Layla brushed her face into my shoulder in embarrassment, peeking at Lilith who was giggling. "Lily-san... don't do something like that ever again... I-I'm very s-sensitive here..."

"Sorry~ sorry~!" Lilith laughed. "But I need to practice! After all, I have a dream!" She said with pride.

"Since when?" I asked curiously.

"Since... uhh... like an hour?" She smiled awkwardly.

"What dream?" Carmilla looked at her.

Lilith smirked. "I want to... I want to become the next Patron Of Lust!" She said with excitement.

"You want to steal my Mother's title?" Carmilla asked.

"Yup~" Lilith smiled.

Carmilla sighed and rolled her eyes. "You know what? I don't care."

I looked at Layla. "Hey, Layla?" I smirked at her.

"What?" She asked softly, still blushing.

"Can I grab your other boob? You know, there might be an imbalance since only one was groped~!" I pleaded with her.

"Hmph... you're sometimes... very stupid, Shoji." She pouted and looked out the window.

"Heyy! Don't pout~! Layla! Laaayla~?" I nudged her, but she kept ignoring me.
