''T- thank you...'' After saying those two words for what felt like the thousandth time, blood flowed from my mouth and the arm of Nathaniel through my heart. I leaned on his trembling shoulder and died.
Gasp—''Huff... huff, puff, huff... failure again...ᶻᶻᶻ'' With a sigh, Jibrīl wondered what the point of failing was and continuing the endless cycle of forcing Nathaniel to kill her over and over, in a seemingly endless loop, until she remembered why:
''Merlin...'' 'I shall kill you for everything you have done. Even if millions of lifetimes have gone by, I will remember and therefore strive to kill you for ruining everythingᶻᶻᶻ'
Jibrīl closed her golden eyes once again. 'Simulation startᶻᶻᶻ' After thinking those ever-so-familiar words... 'What!?' For the first time in a while, Jibrīl was surprised and wondered, 'Why can't I simulate the future? I should be able to do so after all the suffering... wait, Nathaniel, that's right; that should be happening today.'
Getting up from her bed without a pillow, Jibrīl turned her head towards...
[ Simulation Over ]
''Ah, it seems like I died once again from the very beginningᶻᶻᶻ'' With a brief tilt of her head, Jibrīl looked at the calendar she had hidden under her sheets and sighed as she put a checkmark on a marked day.
The marked day was the end of the 0th year and the start of the 1st year. 'Ah... how fitting that today is the new millennium and the day humanity's savior and [ - ] starts their journeyᶻᶻᶻ'
Gwenddydd's head caught my eye as I nearly vomited. '*Tsk, that thing! I wish I could just get rid of it altogether; it shouldn't exist in any way, shape, or form. Yet thanks to those two, it does. Sigh... if only I could create instead of Nathaniel. However, because of those two—no, rather four—and their endless love, none of this would happenᶻᶻᶻ'
Hating on Gwenddydd- Merlin in my head, as Nathaniel would say, my eyes flickered golden. How would I know this endless void I monologue to?
Well, that answer is simple: my eyes literally light up, and since this room is mostly white—as that is the only color that survives the cleaning function—along with these beings like humans and the organisms they need to survive, I can easily see their flickering/lighting up, whatever you want to call it.
'It seems that I'll have a ''fun'' night when today's events unfold, even if this marks the start of my hero's despair throughout eternityᶻᶻᶻ' Getting up and out of her bed, Jibrīl walked up to Gwenddydd's head, picked it up by the scruff of her hair, and said,
''I know you're awake. The most you'll ever need to sleep is ten seconds, and that's being generous towards you.'' Not even bothering to open her eyes, Gwenddydd asked, ''I'm curious, what happened to that sleepy tone of yours, great Apokolips?'' At that, Jibrīl's eyebrow twitched before she said in as firm a tone as possible,
''Don't you dare call me that! You, out of all people in the Districts, have no right to call others that after what you did, causing such a large mess that a new chaender needed to be made and most history needed to be erased to make sure no further damage was caused.''
''Oh, how do you know this? I'm pretty sure even the upper world above the Districts has no idea about what happened—well, except the gods, of course?'' Not even bothering to entertain Gwenddydd's question, Jibrīl asked, ''Why?''
''Why what? What do you mean by why?'' Gwenddydd asked.
''I want to know why you are so fixated on Nathaniel and even putting on this charade.'' Jibrīl said this in a tone as if she almost knew something, seemingly staring straight through Gwenddydd's eyelids and directly into their eyes.
Gwenddydd responded with a smile.
