Chapter 41- Hypocrisy

I wanted him to see it clearly.
My father was so greedy, so heartless, that he didn't even mind exchanging his only daughter like a worthless object, all for protection.
I told myself to calm down.
I really did. I tried. But my body refused. My fingers were trembling. My breath was shallow and fast. The rage was bubbling and bursting inside me like a volcano ready to ruin everything in its path.
I wanted to snap.
I wanted to scream.
I wanted to destroy everyone in that damn room.
I wanted to raise my hands and erase them from this world, one by one.
Instead, I laughed. Bitterly. Loudly.
"That's really funny, Papa. Truly rich," I said, sarcasm lacing every word.
I looked him dead in the eyes.
"Killian isn't family. Not by blood. Not by water. Not even by name. He's not related to us in any way."
I stood up straighter, glaring at him.
