"You don't want me to meet them?" Alvin stood behind the sofa across from Elara and asked with a confused look on his face.
"You don't know them, Alvin; they will spare no chance to control you." Elara shook her head, her voice laced with disdain. Placing the glass back on the tray, she added, "Besides, I have a feeling…"
By the end of her sentence, her voice grew softer than a whisper. She looked at Alvin, "…I just hope you can grow as much as you can before we are forced to face the inevitable."
Seeing her reluctance to speak more, Alvin said no more and nodded silently.
"Today, Vanessa will be accompanying you on the hunt. You will be fighting like usual, and Vanessa will only act like me, only when necessary." Elara regained her energetic smile and changed the topic.
