Hoshino wasn't sure if Silvally's attack had somehow unblocked Cyclizar's internal circuits, but…
Watching him stand there, bathed in crackling purple electricity, with those completely different eyes, Hoshino felt an odd sense of familiarity—yet at the same time, it was something entirely foreign.
This was definitely Electric Terrain, but normally, electric energy should be golden in color. This purple electricity was obviously not normal.
The only known possibility was Electric Terrain triggered by a Quantum Drive, but that ability was exclusive to Miraidon. Cyclizar only had Shed Skin as an ability.
Of course, Miraidon was Cyclizar's Paradox form from a billion years in the future, so maybe there was some kind of connection… but this was still too strange.
While Hoshino was stunned, the battle had already resumed.
Due to the Hyper Beam recoil, Silvally was temporarily immobilized. Cyclizar, surging with electricity, charged straight at him!
Purple lightning exploded outward, piercing the sky. The ground beneath them sparked violently as the terrain surged with electrical energy—
And this time, the warehouse finally couldn't hold out.
BOOM!
The entire structure collapsed in a massive explosion!
Hoshino didn't have time to care about the battle anymore—he ran deeper inside the ruins and found Gengar and the little mouse still frantically searching through cages.
"You still haven't found it?!"
"Gengar!"
Gengar anxiously waved her hands, responding that they had searched twice already—they had checked every single cage, but the missing Tandemaus was nowhere to be found.
The little mouse was on the verge of tears, looking even more desperate than Gengar.
"…I see. In that case, let's free the others first. This place is about to collapse—they need to escape!"
Hoshino turned his gaze toward the locked cages.
Inside were Pokémon like Fidough, Togepi, Lilligant, and Swirlix—all adorable species, not particularly rare. There were also a few Pokémon Eggs among them.
He had no idea why someone would bother capturing these Pokémon, but whatever.
Reaching out, he grabbed onto the cage locks—
Gengar immediately tried to stop him, but it was too late.
The moment his hand touched the metal bars—
BZZZT!
A violent surge of electricity erupted from the cages, amplified further by the Electric Terrain, sending Hoshino collapsing to the ground on the spot.
"Are you serious?! An electric terrain?!"
Meanwhile, outside—
Silvally, still surging with power, had finally recovered from Hyper Beam's cooldown.
The pain wracking its body only drove it further into a frenzy.
Its entire form became enveloped in Normal-type high-energy, as it charged forward with Multi-Attack!
However, Cyclizar showed zero emotion.
Electric currents rippled across his body like waves.
Then—he stepped forward.
In an instant—
Like lightning, Cyclizar vanished from view.
The next second, he pierced straight through Silvally, appearing behind him!
Both Pokémon froze in place.
The battlefield fell into a suffocating silence.
Gladion watched from a distance, stunned, not knowing what had just happened.
And then—
Cyclizar snapped his fingers.
A massive purple thunderbolt suddenly descended from the sky, striking Silvally head-on!
BOOM!
The battle was over.
Silvally, still engulfed in crackling energy, didn't even make a sound.
The overwhelming force suppressed its berserk state, and it simply collapsed forward.
Gladion's eyes widened in disbelief.
"This is impossible…"
Type: Null was modeled after a certain Mythical Pokémon from Sinnoh—designed with artificial skeletal structures and genetic material from multiple species to create the ultimate Pokémon weapon.
Even though it had lost control and entered a berserk state, it had still been defeated so easily by a Cyclizar.
It didn't make sense.
But it had just happened.
"..."
After knocking out Silvally, Cyclizar didn't finish him off.
Instead, he suddenly turned around—
And locked eyes with Gladion.
"!!!"
Gladion's heart skipped a beat—
But before he could react, Cyclizar disappeared in a flash, zipping right past him.
Realizing he wasn't the target, Gladion exhaled sharply, feeling an overwhelming sense of relief.
He slowly got up, staring at Silvally's fallen form—and the discarded helmet nearby.
For a long moment, he simply stood there—
As if something he had spent so long chasing after had been effortlessly shattered before his eyes.
But just then—
Police sirens blared outside.
The Alolan police had arrived.
With the battle over, the warehouse was finally collapsing.
Yet—
As Cyclizar moved at high speed, the entire structure seemed to be held up by electromagnetic forces, eventually settling down instead of crashing violently.
Meanwhile, Hoshino was still completely electrocuted, twitching on the ground.
Gengar frantically slapped his face, trying to revive him.
The little mouse sat on his stomach, completely lost.
Cyclizar, still in his high-speed state, suddenly tackled him—
"Sent to heaven on the spot."
"Let me guess. You're the one who called the cops?"
"It was me…"
Hoshino, half-dead, lay on a stretcher, being healed by a Blissey wearing a nurse's hat.
Officer Jenny stood beside him, questioning him.
Even though all the Jennys looked the same, this one clearly recognized him.
Hoshino had quietly called the police on his way to the port district—there was no way he could handle a Pokémon trafficking case on his own.
The Team Skull grunts that had been knocked out by Zoroark had already been taken away.
Gladion had escaped with Silvally.
And now, Hoshino was the only person left to question.
"You're saying they moved the Pokémon here after the warehouse explosion?"
"That's right…"
Jenny paused for a moment, then asked with a serious expression,
"I need to know—why was a student like you investigating this? Can you explain honestly?"
Hoshino looked over at the little mouse, still grieving over his missing partner, and explained,
"This Pokémon lost his partner. I was just helping him look. He was also kidnapped, but managed to escape because of the explosion earlier."
Jenny glanced at the sorrowful Tandemaus and softened slightly.
She then asked, "So what exactly happened here? Those consecutive massive attacks…"
"I was electrocuted. Didn't see a thing."
Hoshino shook his head, then put on a serious expression.
"But it must have been Tapu Koko, the Island Guardian. These people must have angered it. The Electric Terrain was proof enough—what else could it be? Toxtricity?"
"…Does Tapu Koko even use purple lightning?"
"You know it's Tapu Koko. It's a Guardian Deity."
"…You're right."
Jenny didn't doubt it at all.
The residents of Melemele Island had absolute faith in Tapu Koko.
With the questioning done, she said,
"That's all for now. If we need anything else, we'll contact you."
"Alright… So…"
"Don't worry. All 13 Pokémon have been rescued. None of them are native to Alola, but the missing Tandemaus isn't among them. It probably escaped during the explosion."
"…I see."
Alola wasn't huge, but searching for a single Tandemaus would be incredibly difficult.
The only certainty was that it was still alive—and somewhere in Hau'oli City.
Just then, Jenny added,
"Among the rescued Pokémon, there were three eggs. Since we don't know what species they are, we need to find Trainers to hatch them. Would you like one?"
"…Me?"
Jenny smirked.
"I've heard mixed opinions about you, but I have a good eye for people."
"You fight to stand up for Pokémon. That's enough for me."
"…Fine, I'll take one."
Hoshino chose the white egg with blue floral patterns.
As he held it, the panel suddenly popped up—
