They took care of everything, and soon they were free to leave. Throughout this whole process, no one from the Fu family showed up even once. Fu Ling didn't say anything so naturally the two wouldn't ask.
Wei Hong Yi acted as a driver and drove Fu Ling down to the front of the community gate. Strange cars were not permitted in the community. Especially one that was so rustic and slightly old. It did not fit with the luxurious style of the community at all. But that aside, as the young master of the Fu family, he couldn't even bring someone in.
Fu Ling said goodbye to them and went to the gate. The security personnel say it was him and opened the gate.
It would take about twenty minutes to walk from the gate to the Fu family villa. Fu Ling walked slowly as though he were here on a sightseeing trip and before long, he made it to the door.
When the housekeeper opened the door and met Fu Ling's calm gaze, his eyes flashed slightly and he didn't dare look him in the eye again. Fu Ling ignored the abnormal reaction and went upstairs.
He went to the bathroom and washed himself thoroughly before melting onto the bed. He looked up at the ceiling and completely relaxed his body.
"System"
The monotone voice that had not appeared for a while answered.
"Yes, Fu Ling."
"I want you to monitor the internet and block any news related to my fainting. And find something to cover up for it. An even bigger news."
After two beeps the system responded again
"First task completed. Second task.. already completed."
Hum? "Let me see"
The screen in his mind turned to the information in the internet. Fu Ling was looking through the normal netezins perspectives. There was no news at all about the college entrance examination student fainting after the exam of clues about his identity. People would have paid attention if something so big suddenly disappeared but that was covered up by the big melon of wealthy families. It turns out the low-key and timid boy who liked to avoid trouble was actually the young master of the Wei family.
There was a warm feeling in his heart and Fu Ling smiled slightly. Wei Hong Yi wasn't someone who liked to expose himself to the public he preferred doing things from the sidelines. To suddenly expose his identity was undoubtedly his way of helping to deal with the heat.
Although this made Fu Ling slightly deviate from his original plan, it's the thought that counts. Fu Ling sent him a brief thank you message and Wei Hong Yi replied telling him to take care of himself.
A few weeks passed and Fu Ling had completely recovered from overdrawing this body. His slightly sunken cheeks had filled out and he felt like he gained weight. He went out with Gu Lian and Wei Hong Yi. He felt like Gu Lian was more quiet that usual but when he asked, he was always told that everything is fine. Fu Ling wasn't sure what to do so he could only let Gu Lian handle it on his own.
Gu Lian looked at the heartless man who only asked a few questions and then resolutely abandoned him while shaking head. He sighed and took a sip of his drink muttering under his breath.
"Forget it, who made me like him"
Fu Ling heard Gu Lian mutter something and leaned over to hear properly.
"Huh? What did you say?"
Gu Lian looked at the young man who was so close to him and his heart beat loudly in his chest. His Adams apple rolled slightly and he adjusted his posture uncomfortably trying to look nonchalant.
" I didn't say anything"
His voice was low and Fu Ling probably didn't hear that as well so he leaned even closer. Gu Lian couldn't bare it anymore and used his palm to push his head back.
Fu Ling looked at his with wide watery eyes and Gu Lian coughed unnaturally.
"It's getting late. We should probably start going home now."
Fu Ling made an O shape with his mouth and nodded to express his understanding then called for the bill.
Wei Hong Yi watched all this with a question mark on his head. Even after they left the restaurant and he got back home, he still couldn't understand what was wrong so he just stopped thinking about it.
On the night the results of the entrance exams were released, many families sat in front of the computer waiting for the forum to open. At 12am when the forum finally became accessable, it froze fro a few minutes due to the high number of people trying to log in. None of this concerned the three friends though as they slept through the night an only checked their results the next day.
That day, there was a lot of celebration in both the Wei and Gu households. How could they not celebrate? Their children were roo scholars.
Gu Lian's mom took a day off from work and even bought him a slightly expensive cake. The Wei family planned on holding a banquet for Wei Hong Yi if he had not declined profusely. Compared to the joy in these two families, the Fu family was a direct opposite. If one didn't know, they would think someone had died.
Fu Ling, the person involved didn't show any other emotions except that it was expected. He chatted a bit with the two men and sent a few congratulatory red envelopes, receiving some in turn.
The class group was also boiling over as the top three scorers were all from their class. Red envelopes were flying and Fu Ling grabbed a few before exiting the app. The haze in his heart also cleared as he got ready for the next step of his plan.
Luo Xing Jie turned over everything he could get his hands on breaking ornaments that cost several millions and still couldn't satisfy the unwillingness in his heart. He couldn't accept that the three people he hated the most would climb on his head over and over again.
He swept a few more items onto the floor and yelled angrily. He did not notice that the persuasive voices outside had stopped at some point. He heard the sound of his door open and turned around in anger but when he saw the person, he cowered back.
"Grandfather."
The old man looked at the mess on the floor and raised his hand to slap him. Luo Xing Jie looked at the floor without making any move to dodge.
"If you can't even handle this little setback then you are not worthy of being my grandson."
Luo Xing Jie stiffened but the old man was not done yet.
"I have secured an admission for you abroad. Make use if this opportunity to harness yourself. Do not disappoint me this time. I do not like making useless investments"
Luo Xing Jie remained silent until the old man left. There was cold sweat on his back and his face was unnaturally flushed. He clenched his fists and looked at the door with bloodshot eyes. No one knows what he was thinking.
