Sir Gunnar resumed his position as their leader as he walked ahead of the apprentices. However, the entire group was walking much more closely together. It was out of precaution, but Irene knew it was also because of how terrifying that stretch over the rockslide was for a moment.
As always, they had to push these thoughts to the back of their minds and press on. Being brave, no matter how much they scraped elbows with death on any given day, was a must. Even if it was a tough reality, it was still reality.
"There really isn't much to see up here, is there?" Irene uttered as they pressed on.
"We're having unexpected clouds," Gunnar explained. "All of the knights made the mistake of believing that it would remain as clear as last night. Even the moon isn't helping us much anymore."
"How far until we're up?" Felix asked. "I've been this high before but I hardly remember it."
"I'm looking…" Gunnar trailed off.
