Chapter 19 - Uncovering the mystery

After the strange incident in the park, Zeyu and her friends walked quickly towards the center of the crowd. They still couldn't forget the gaze of the violinist—a gaze that seemed to pierce straight into their souls.

"What just happened?" Aline asked in a trembling voice.

"I don't know either..." Yuke replied while taking a deep breath. "But... it feels like we just met something that isn't human."

Kailu clenched her fists. "I felt an incredible pressure when he played his violin. It was like there was an invisible energy pressing down on my body."

"Could it be that he..." Zulian paused for a moment. "...not from this world?"

The atmosphere became increasingly tense. They had just come to New York for a vacation, but now they were involved in something far beyond reason.

Zeyu looked around, making sure no one was following them. Even though Times Square was so crowded with people taking pictures and enjoying the night, they still felt like something was watching them from a distance.

"I think we should go back to the hotel," Zeyu finally said. "We need to discuss this further in a safe place."

Without wasting any time, they immediately called a taxi and returned to their hotel.

In the Hotel Room

As soon as they arrived at the hotel room, they immediately locked the door and gathered in the middle of the room.

"I feel like that man is not an ordinary human being," Kailu said while leaning against the wall. "The look in his eyes… it's not the look of an ordinary person."

"And the pressure from his music," Zulian added. "It feels like he's controlling something with the sound of his violin."

Aline sat on the edge of the bed, still looking worried. "So what should we do now? Should we report this to the police?"

Yuke shook his head. "The police won't believe it. Besides, there's no concrete evidence that he did anything illegal. This isn't a horror movie where we can just report someone because of a bad feeling."

Zeyu sighed and stared at the window overlooking New York City. The glittering lights of the skyscrapers reflected off the glass, but behind the beauty, there was danger lurking.

"We have to stay alert," he finally said. "If he's really after us, he'll show up sooner or later."

The atmosphere in the room became quiet. They all realized that their journey in America would not be as easy as they had imagined.

Outside, the night wind blew softly.

Unbeknownst to them, in the distance, a pair of deep blue eyes were watching them from the top of one of the tall buildings in New York.

That night, even though they were already in the hotel room, Zeyu and his friends had trouble sleeping. Their minds were still filled with the strange encounter with the mysterious man in the park.

Kailu sat on the sofa with his arms crossed. "I can't just sit still. I think we have to find out who that man is."

"How?" Aline asked, pulling her blanket over her.

"We can start by asking the locals," Yuke suggested. "Maybe he's often seen around the park."

Zulian nodded in agreement. "I'm curious too. There's no harm in finding out more."

Zeyu thought for a moment. There was something in her heart that told her that the man was not just an ordinary street musician. He had such a strong and intimidating aura.

After a brief discussion, they finally decided to return to the park the next day and look for clues about the mysterious man.

The Next Morning

The New York sun was shining brightly. The city was still busy with the hustle and bustle of vehicles and pedestrians rushing to their respective destinations.

After breakfast at the hotel, they headed straight to the park where they had met the man. However, when they arrived there, they found no trace of the man.

They started asking people around.

"Excuse me, do you often see a man with a violin playing in this park?" Zeyu asked a hot dog vendor.

The man frowned for a moment before nodding. "Yes, there is a man who often plays the violin here, but he is very strange. No one knows his name, and he only appears at certain times."

"When does he usually appear?" Zulian asked curiously.

"Usually at night, when the park is starting to get quiet."

They exchanged glances. Nighttime?

Aline shuddered. "I'm not sure we should see him again…"

"We should," Kailu replied confidently. "Otherwise, we'll continue to be haunted by this mystery."

Zeyu sighed. "Okay. We'll come back here tonight."
