By noon, Maya was sitting in a conference room at Concrete Roses' new Brooklyn office. Across from her sat Reggie, Zora, and Lena Park, a top media lawyer Maya had hired the second she got that legal threat.
Lena flipped through LuxeGlow's letter. "They don't have a case."
Reggie folded his arms. "But they have money. If they take us to court, they'll drag this out just to bleed you dry."
Zora rolled her eyes. "So, what? We let them silence us?"
Lena smirked. "Not if we hit back first."
Maya sat up. "How?"
Lena slid her phone across the table. "LuxeGlow's stock took a dip after your article. Investors are asking questions. If they try to come for us, we go public with the lawsuit—make them look even worse."
Maya's pulse quickened. "So we don't just play defense. We go on offense."
Lena nodded. "If you're ready for the fight."
Maya looked at Reggie.
He sighed. "This could cost us sponsorships."
Maya lifted her chin. "Then we find better sponsors."
Reggie studied her for a moment, then grinned. "That's what I like to hear."
