"You really have a lot of stuff, and building a particle collider in your own home, is that really okay? You know, if something goes wrong..." After a period of busy work, the two finally stopped.
At this point, Tony's villa had been completely transformed by them. Of course, he didn't completely mind, but even so, Tohka had to admire this guy.
"I've had these devices for a while; today is just when I'll be using them. Later, keep an eye on me and protect me in case something goes wrong."
Okay, Tony was still worried about unexpected situations. After all, he had never done this before, and the original didn't have anyone suitable—now there happened to be one. Of course, he wasn't worried about Tohka spilling his secrets because... because Tohka had no idea what any of this was. Even an agent would need specialized knowledge to understand it. Clearly, Tohka's education level wasn't enough.
"No problem, leave it to me." Tohka was confident about this. Honestly, physical explosions alone, without energy attacks or new weapons, would have a hard time breaching her shield.
As for whether a nuclear bomb would work... Tohka couldn't be sure. That thing was almost like magic; at least, Tohka didn't want to experience it firsthand.
"Alright, I'm starting." After hearing Tohka's assurance, Tony slowly opened the machine in front of him.
Then, a beam of light appeared in front of them. Tony carefully rotated the beam, directing it toward the central target. At this point, even he wasn't entirely confident.
As for Tohka, well, she was just watching Tony cut up his house. She didn't care about anything else, and of course, she didn't understand any of it.
As sparks jumped, the beam from Tony's machine stopped. Then, the two hurried over to take a look and found a brand new core there.
"Congratulations, sir. You've successfully created a new element." With a special beam sweeping across, Jarvis confirmed that this was Tony's target. A brand new element, it not only lacked toxicity but also had much greater energy.
"Looks like you can apply for a Nobel Prize now, this is a new energy source." Looking at the new element, Tohka couldn't help but exclaim. Of course, she was just saying that. Not to mention, Tony didn't even need that reward. The most important thing was that this was related to Tony's core, the Arc Reactor. If this thing fell into the wrong hands, one wrong move could lead to a disaster.
"We'll talk about that later. Come with me, I need your help with something." Hearing Tohka's tone, Tony knew she was just joking. But now that the biggest issue with his chest was solved, it was time to upgrade his armor. After all, his opponent this time was someone who had control over core technology. If he didn't make some preparations beforehand, he'd feel a little uneasy facing that guy. Also, there was still some time before the evening exhibition, and even though he had assigned Deadpool to take care of it, Tony needed to be prepared for anything.
"By the way, can you transfer your energy into this device? I've studied your powers before, and that energy is strong, but I haven't found any element that can release that kind of energy except for you. So, I created this battery to store your energy, and when necessary, it can be used to launch special attacks. While it won't reach your level, it will be enough."
Arriving at the armor display room, Tony handed Tohka a battery-like object and asked her for help.
"So, are you even science or not? This is basically magic!" Tohka muttered under her breath as she took the battery from Tony. Though she was silently complaining, she didn't hesitate to inject her energy into it.
Then, the battery emitted a dazzling purple glow.
"Stop! It's going to explode!" Tony was shocked when he saw this. He hadn't expected Tohka's energy to be so massive and fill the battery so quickly.
"Phew, next time go slower. Charging it too fast will cause huge damage to the battery." Tony quickly took the battery from Tohka and placed it under a scanner to collect data.
But soon, he realized that things weren't as he expected, because Tohka's energy drained very quickly. Even this battery couldn't store the energy for too long—an hour would be enough for it to lose all its power.
"Forget it, just charge it again before you leave. This thing really isn't for casual use. Looks like I can't rely on these things in the future."
"I'll leave first, call me when you need me." Looking at the busy Tony, Tohka glanced at the time.
She realized that there was still some time before sunset. The Hammer Industries press conference was in the evening, and it wouldn't help to go there now. So, she ran to her room, closed the door, and turned on her computer.
However, just as she was about to browse the web, she received a video notification. Immediately, Fury's large, dark face appeared on her screen.
"Hello, one-eyed grandpa." Seeing this person, Tohka instinctively greeted him loudly.
"Forget it, just call me by my name from now on." Hearing Tohka's words, Nick Fury's eyelid twitched. It felt so strange being called that.
"Okay, so what's your name?" Tohka realized after speaking that she didn't actually know the name of the S.H.I.E.L.D. director.
"My name is Nick Fury, didn't Tony tell you?" Although Nick Fury was Black, Tohka still saw his expression darken even further.
"No, he never told me." Well, Tohka couldn't care less whether Tony had told her or not. She remembered that every time she met him, this guy's expression always seemed off.
"Forget it, just remember my name." At this point, Nick Fury realized that he hadn't actually introduced himself to Tohka.
But hearing Tohka's words, it seemed that Tony hadn't used his proper name either. He casually noted it down in his little notebook, planning to deal with Tony later.
However, he had more important things to do. "Do you remember the hammer I mentioned before? Things here are finished, and tomorrow I'll have Coulson pick you up, so you two can go there together."
