The day meant for Bryan's engagement had finally arrived.
Unlike every other day, today was different. Zephyrine had an agenda. She wasn't about to waste her energy dressing up herself, so she called the maids over.
The engagement was beginning in an hour. But hell, she had no intention of arriving early like a good little guest. No, she would make an entrance. She smirked at the thought of seeing Rachel again.
"I bet she's happy," she mused, amusement curling in her chest.
An hour passed, after carefully applying makeup, choosing the perfect dress, and styling her hair to perfection. Finally, Zephyrine was ready.
Outside, the carriage was already waiting.
As she descended the staircase, silence fell.
Damien's mouth hung open in shock. His mind went blank, forgetting to breathe for a moment.
She stood at the top of the staircase like a dark queen risen from the ashes.
